Bullshit is showing up here with everything on me but my comic books. All those Savage Starlight issues, gone. Just like that. Fuck you too, Initiative.

[A pause. Ellie's never really addressed a group of people. Technology is crazy. Okay, there was a point to this whole thing.]

... anyway, guess I just wanted to say thanks to the people that helped me out when I got here. I found who I was looking for, so. Didn't wanna leave anyone with a cliffhanger.

[Her tone turns rueful.] That obvious?

Yeah, it was. First earthquake we ever had, and it was a 7.6.

[Her voice brightens, a little. Teaching!] Earthquakes are measured using something called the Richter scale - it quantifies the energy released, the damage done. If it's less than 2.0, it's called a microearthquake - most people don't even feel them. 9.0 plus is total destruction.

7.6 falls under "major".

[Her voice dims.] Yeah. Most of the city wasn't even a little prepared.

[Her tone shifts; stronger, and proud.] But we got through it.

Cities that are used to earthquakes can build with them in mind, but yeah, there's only so much you can do. [Her tower survived, but that was luck as much as structure.]

We got help rebuilding, eventually.
