I know it is not queer for men to disappear and then return, it happens often enough to be considered normal on this island. When they disappear they either return with no knowledge of Exsilium or they return changed; older, wiser than they were before.

Has any ever returned unchanged? [ he understands the reason behind his disappearance, though is by no means pleased, yet he feels unchanged and it bothers him. mayhaps it is nothing and he worries for naught, mayhaps. either way it will not hurt to at least ask. ]

It's possible you were brought back from a point in time less than a minute after you were returned home. It can get very confusing.
