[Someone has recently kicked Jesse's ass, judging by the bruised state of the left half of his face - which is on its way to fading, but still obvious from the video.]

Yo, this is for the new guys, 'cause I think most of you have heard this one before.

My name's Jesse Pinkman. I'm one of the greeters here. You mighta seen me on your first day, out there in the courtyard with some other people, handing out free cookies. This announcement's about that. The cookies are a regular thing we do around here, every single month. The Initiative helps me out with getting all the supplies together, so you don't gotta worry about that, but we could always use more hands for the baking part.

In a week, on the 31st, we'll be meeting up in 409 and making cookies all day. If you like baking, or if you dunno how to bake but wanna learn, or if you don't like baking but you wanna scrape extra cookie dough off the bowls and eat it - whatever. You can come, hang out, smell real good, have fun.

The day after that, we'll need hands outside for the actual giving-out-cookies-and-greeting-people part. That'll be the day newbies show up. If you're gonna be out there looking for your friends, you might as well hang out in our tent.

[Wow, he just noticed that stare. Jesse glances over with a raised eyebrow.]

[Stan raises an eyebrow back and gestures to his own face. Dude, what happened?]

[He gives a dismissive shrug and a shake of his head.]

It's nothing.

[lazyinlove]

[That gets a snort, which blows some of the dry cereal right off the spoon and onto the table. But he's not that interested in dinner anyway. It eventually gets shoved aside.]

Yeah, okay.

[hostage]

It wasn't anything crazy.

[lazyinlove]

[That gets a shrug. The cereal gets left where it is when Stan gets up to get a glass of water, but he takes something out of the freezer instead. That and the water get deposited beside Jesse on his way past. It's a slab of some sort of frozen meat.]

It helps.

[Jesse picks up the meat and stands to toss it back into the freezer.]

Few days too late for that. Besides, it don't even hurt anymore.

[lazyinlove]

[That's his only suggestion, so Stan shrugs again as he pulls his shoes on. Whoever kicked Jesse's ass didn't do it very thoroughly anyway, so it's no big deal.]

Bet it does if you touch it.

It's worth it, yo. The honeys get all excited about it, wanna make you feel better... I'm telling you.

[lazyinlove]

...Think you can punch me sometime?

Hell no. I don't hit kids.

[lazyinlove]

[Stanley's response to that is an eye roll. He's not a kid, dude. He's just not quite an adult yet either. But way closer to that than to childhood. Either way, it's not like he can dodge battles forever. Maybe girls will like a gaping chest wound or a missing arm.

Yeah, nope. He makes himself shudder just thinking about it, and turns away so Jesse won't see. Ugh. It would be nice not to know what that stuff looked like. Fresh air definitely sounds good right about now. So he casually grabs his sweatshirt from where he'd left it draped over the back of the sofa, and shrugs it on too.]

I'll just wait for Chris. He'll do it.

Hey, don't be in such a hurry.

[lazyinlove]

[He's got his hand on the door, but he pauses. And misses the point.]

What, you need something? Can't Lisbeth get it? I'm saving up.

[hostage]

I mean, don't be in such a hurry to get your ass kicked.

[lazyinlove]

Just once, you know?

[He's probably not talking about black eyes anymore.]

[hostage]

[Obviously.]

It'll happen. Probably sooner than you think.

[lazyinlove]

It was supposed to.

[Sigh.

But he's not going to stand around sulking forever. Not obviously sulking, anyway. Instead he perched on the edge of the sofa and props his chin in his hand.]

Timing could've been better.

Yeah, I hear you. But now that you're here, you might get a chance to bang Supergirl. All about the silver linings, yo.

[lazyinlove]

[That gets him back on his feet in a hurry, and his eyes go wide.]

What did you hear? I didn't do anything!

What - I was joking. What? What? Seriously?

[lazyinlove]

No! There was just...a misunderstanding. Like a big clusterfuck of misunderstandings. That's it.

Now you gotta tell me.

[lazyinlove]

I'll trade. Just don't give me the kiddie version. And don't punch me in the kidney when you hear mine.
