[babydoll is feeling rather sociable today, finally feeling like she can ask a few more questions than she normally would. of course, that isn't much for her. she never likes to pry too much into peoples' personal lives unless they've given her the permission to do so.]

When I first offered, it was a while ago, so I'd like to offer once more. If anyone needs help with training or handling certain weaponry, I can help.

[she pauses, eyes wandering away from the device for a quick moment before focusing at the camera again.]

I was also wondering- what sort of things did everyone do before arriving in Exsilium? What type of jobs?

[it's also the fact that she's from a much earlier time than most of the transports around exsilium that's making her curious. living in the 60s only gave her so much leeway.]

The word, to my understanding, has a slightly different meaning. But where I am from, it referred to those who took campaigns and other jobs to make money.

And I am not, no.

[paracosmic]

So you never went to war.

[she arches a brow, a tiny smile tugging at her lips,]

Where are you from?

[hyanaimne]

[she shakes her head]

Whatever wars happened in my world, happened before I was born.

I am from Carmarthen, in Daear. [a pause] My understanding is, from a time long ago.

[paracosmic]

Sometimes people aren't that lucky.

[she was born about a year in to the second world war, but it hadn't affected her immediate family, so she was lucky in that sense.

her brows crinkle when she inevitably doesn't recognize the name.]

Do you mind me asking what it was like?

[hyanaimne]

I do not mind.

[since arriving, Tempest has sort of grown to like explaining her world to others; it seems many were from cities, or other worlds unlike hers]

There are trees as far as you can see, lakes, ponds . . . it is still very untouched by human hands. There are villages hidden within those, as well as ones that lie along the roadsides.

In the center is the capital - Carmathen. It used to be a kingdom, and may once again become so, but for now it is run by the king's council. The castle still stands, though - it is the first thing one sees when traveling there.

[paracosmic]

That sounds really beautiful.

[she hasn't really been out of her home town, and the city she was transported from had everything but wildlife.]

It's really different from Exsilium, then. The transition must have been difficult.

[hyanaimne]

[she gives a small, wry smile. "Difficult" was an understatement, for a number of reasons]

Mm, it is . . . unique. This place.

[paracosmic]

[unique is one way to put it.]

Sorry, I never asked your name. I'm Babydoll.

[hyanaimne]

It's nice to meet you, too.

[there's slight hesitation, but-]

I ask everyone this, but ...when did you arrive in Exsilium?

[she just likes to keep track.]

[hyanaimne]

Almost two months ago. I am still fairly new.

[paracosmic]

That's good, though. No one should have to be here for too long.

[a beat,]

Unless you want to stay here.

[hyanaimne]

[there's a long, long pause as something occurs to Tempest for the first time. Something that, while has been on her mind here and there, kind of just settled into place]

. . . I've nowhere else to go.

[paracosmic]

[babydoll's brows knit together, not in confusion, but a mix of surprise and pity.]

I- I'm sorry, I didn't know.

[hyanaimne]

[she blinks, a bit surprised herself at the apology, then shakes her head]

There is no apology needed, dear. It is not as though I said anything.

[paracosmic]

I know, but I always assume people have something to go back to, and sometimes they don't.

[sometimes this is all they have.]

[hyanaimne]

And yet those are understandable assumptions.

[paracosmic]

I still shouldn't be making any in the first place.

[hyanaimne]

[she shrugs] When one does not have the answers, that is all one can do, yes? I am not offended.

[paracosmic]

That's true. I hope you stay careful around here, Tempest.
