[It's been a while since Kili's shown his face in public, and as the feed starts, it becomes apparent as to why. The young dwarf is terribly pale, a gleam of sweat shining on his brow and dark shadows beneath bloodshot eyes. He's been ill, very much so, and it's only really now that he's become conscious enough to speak.

Some words are difficult to understand as his voice is mostly gone, and what is understandable is spoken in a rough, croaky tone.]

I will pay for someone to bring me food, and ale if possible. I have coin or I can pay you back in fresh game, once I-- [He's interrupted by a harsh cough.] Once I can hunt again.

[He's half tempted to ask for a healer. He may be getting better, but he still feels awful. His pride rebels against the idea. He's a dwarf, he's strong. He can handle this on his own. It's difficult enough to admit he's too weak to fetch himself food.]

If I could get that soon.

...Could...could you come visit? [His expression is sheepish but hopeful.] Thorin's out somewhere.

[She smiles back at him.]

Has your uncle told you about this place at all?

[Kili shakes his head slowly.] Not a lot, no.

He reminded me of why we fight here. The weapons they use here aren't what they have above the Wall nor in Middle Earth. I showed him the gun, I got, and I know he wants to protect you. So-- when you're well I've one for you, and I'll teach you.

[Kili listens, though he's not quite sure he follows or completely understands.]

A...gun? Why can't I use my bow?

[Does Thorin think he's not good enough with what he's got to defend himself?]

Their weapons are much better than ours, faster, stronger, and deadlier. Your uncle was shot with one.

Better than ours? [A troubled expression passes his face.] And Thorin was shot with one? When?

He fought nobly. We all did, but they can overpower us if we do not arm ourselves.

[She thinks.] Sometime before you came. Three fortnights?

I should be fighting a different war than this. [He sighs softly but nods.]

So he's alright now.

So should I.

[She nods.] Yes. He wants to arm himself better though.

Seems we were all caught up in something before we were dragged here.

[Kili relaxes somewhat and nods.] So it isn't... [He pauses awkwardly.] It's not that he doesn't trust me with my bow.

No. I do not think it's that. He would rather protect himself and you.

[Kili visibly relaxes.]

That's good to hear.

When you are well, I will show you how to shoot.

Thank you, Ygritte. [He nods.] I would appreciate that.
