When the feed blinks to life, the serenity of the figure facing the camera is directly at odds with the thunderous cacophony in the background. Chrono just smiles blandly at his unseen audience as a terrible burst of sparks makes itself visible in—is his back to the apartment's kitchen?]

I just had a quick question. [He might as well dive right into it, as a crash echoes around the apartment. He doesn't even flinch.] Does anyone here know how to repair electronics? A microwave, specifically? I think apartment number 304 could use your services.

[It's here that Rosette comes into view, hurdling around the corner as smoke billows in her wake; if Chrono were actually looking, he might think it seems appropriate for Rosette's definition of an entrance. It's unclear whether she's addressing Chrono or the tablet (even realizes he's talking to the tablet) when she bellows FIRE! THAT'S A FIRE! It's very likely the former based on how the serenity of Chrono's smile twitches into something that speaks silent danger for someone.]

Quickly, if it isn't too much trouble? [The feed doesn't cut off; evidently, his quiet fury is such that he completely forgets to turn off the tablet before hurling it across the room to go perform some manner of intervention.

It lands facing a ceiling that is growing increasingly smokey.]

[Anyone who actually approaches apartment #304 will find an impressive cloud of black smoke billowing out of the open door that smells distinctly of burnt electronics and scorched metal. Rosette's voice will make itself known second, shouting about how the kitchen is out to get her and this isn't her fault.

If one actually ventures into the abyss (which speaks volumes toward a capacity for bad decisions, by the way), they'll find a frantic teenage girl and a long-suffering little kid trying to determine the best way to put out an impressive electrical fire.]

[The nun whirls around, alarmed at the unfamiliar voice and the proximity. The kitchen itself is a nearly unsalvageable wreck. Where the microwave was, there is now only melted fragments on the floor in front of an inferno-engulfed counter. Climbing up the walls and stretching nearly the span of the kitchen, some of it has been mitigated by firewalls of wet towels.. but the lines don't look like they will hold for long.



On the floor is a foil wrapped potato, laying innocently in front of where it seems to have severely dented the refrigerator on impact.]

Eh....?

Are you crazy! We can't leave! It's still on fire!

Go get more towels from your apartment!

[ From where he's standing now, Flynn gets a better look of the fire. He shakes his head. ]

There's nothing we can do right now. Towels may only serve to fuel it now. We'll have to wait for assistance- but first, we'll have to get the two of you to safety.

We're fine! We've seen worse t-[The last few words of the statement are difficult to make out by the WHOMPH of the fire catching onto the paper towels.]

AH! [With a gloved hand, she picks up the torch and throws it into the sink.]

I'm sorry, but I can't let you stay....

[ Flynn is just this close to grabbing them by the arm and forcefully dragging them out of the apartment... if given the opening. Willll youuu? ]

[Sheer confusion gives him more than enough opportunity. It really is only when you get out into clearer air that you realize exactly how much your lungs have missed oxygen. That is to say, Rosette spends a few minutes of that coughing.]

Wait wait!

[ And Flynn takes that as a sign that staying here isn't in any way a good idea. Flynn grabs her (as gently as she could) and takes her then. ]

[As they take to disputably safer grounds (with some flailing and cough-broken protests from the nun), a young pink haired man strides into the kitchen. And with little preamble at all, eats the fire right off of the surfaces of the kitchen.]



....... well.. that... I guess there was a lot of it.

He ate the fire...

Nothing in the future makes sense at all.

I have my doubts about that being future-related. It seems like a- special ability of some sort.

He says he's a dragon slayer... So I guess that's what you do with fire eating.

I don't think dragon-slaying is connected to fire-eating either. At least, not in my world, anyway...

[ Flynn is actually imagining this. ]

We don't have dragons at all. But you have to admit, it's gotta be a perk for the job.

If I had the power to eat fires, however. I think I would rather use it to serve the populace instead of exterminating dragons. Provided those dragons didn't come close to human settlements...

Isn't that what dragons do though? Burn things, carry off beautiful maidens...

In fiction, maybe.

I'm sure some of them do burn things. But carrying off beautiful maidens might be a bit far-fetched...

I guess that's true. Haaa, nothing is exactly like I've read anyway. No gallant knights, no switches and levers... the future oven doesn't even work.
