[ the tablet is sat in Elizabeth's lap, she hasn't worked out really how it works beyond hitting buttons until something seemed to happen. Which she's frowning so at it then far too pleased with herself when it seems to do what she wants it to. ]

How on earth do they make the little images move -- ? [ but it is no real, matter. She's learning to just accept the fact she doesn't understand how half this stuff works ] I've a few questions that I cannot ascertain simply from watching if I may be so bold... [ she licks her lips briefly before continuing. ] ... where does one find material to make clothes from? As I've yet to make sense of the items I find here made already, but the clothes I arrived in are... not fitting for most daily activities. [ It had only one layer of clothing and... no. No that seems wrong and strange and not at all decent. ]

As well as... [ she lent her head on her hand as she hummed. Making requests is strange, there ought to be people swarming about her, accompanying her wherever she went but now there isn't and its so odd to ask. ] Would I be able to request someone to take a walk about the city with me? Someone who is familiar with the times, so to speak, as I find myself unable to make sense of very much of it. England was a very different place to me, and I cannot make heads nor tails of her now. I do not ever recall her raining so much. [ and she smiles very briefly. ]

Oh.

[Because she kind of just assumed it was an idle offer, not a real one, and she's a little surprised. Not in a bad way, people doing nice things, especially kind of intimate things (she's never even had a manicure), just isn't something she's entirely used to.

But she's smiling, and manages to figure out what to say after a second.]

You totally don't have to, I mean-- I'm not looking for repayment, but if you're sure, then I'm okay with it. It'd be nice.

[Steph learn to talk like a real person instead of a teenager.]

What good is being [ ~~Queen~~ ] nobility and having luxuries if you do not teach others about them?

[ It's said in the same soft teasing tone, as if she's aware that she's startled the girl.

Though in the end this is a servants task, not fit for any kind of nobility, unless it was a noble serving royalty. But if it means making friends and allies who would protect if she needed it? Well, she would keep her keep quite to her pride, besides, it was only a little thing to wash someone's hands. ]

It will have to wait a little while though, I have no idea where to find anything in this city along that line. Perfumed oils and the like do not seem in the most plentiful supply.

[Not that she didn't expect it from the Lady part of the introduction, as well as the general way that Elizabeth talks, but it's another thing to hear it confirmed, that this woman is nobility. Steph's smile doesn't falter, though, because Elizabeth has been nice so far, and it's not her fault that Steph's kind of wary of people of a higher class.]

Luxuries are definitely outside my realm of experience, but I'm always up for learning something new.

[Which is true, even if it's usually not for situations like this.]

I've got olive oil, which I think is fine to use on skin, but it's probably not what you're used to.

[Some of her friends used to be into the cheap, homemade versions of fancy beauty regimes, and olive oil and sugar make a good alternative to exfoliator.]

[ Elizabeth couldn't fault her that, she knew her court. They were vicious and heartless. They persecuted her to Mary and asked for her death in the same breathe as they honoured her as Queen. ]

Then I can teach something, and it shall be an equal trade.

[ and that suits her, it being equal like that. It feels less like she owes the world something for all her the instruction she's had to receive. ]

I can use that as well. Mostly it is for the scent really. Olive oil is not the sweetest of smells.

[She nearly says cool, but actually realizes it probably won't mean much to someone from the past, so she amends it to:]

[And she actually is, even if she will have to steel herself for a stranger touching her. At least it's a woman, not that she ever would've accepted the same offer from a man.]

I kinda like it, but that's probably just 'cause I associate it with kitchens and food.

[Look she's not ashamed to admit that food is like her third favourite thing.]

[ Feeling useful improved her mood immeasurably. Sitting idle felt too much like imprisonment and the long months locked in the tower all over again. ]

I cannot argue with that. Kitchens smell like roasting meat and freshly baked bread to me. [ and it was still one of the best smells she knew. ] Oh do forgive me, here I am talking away at you, no doubt you had something you were going to do before this afternoon.

That sounds amazing. [It's what the Wayne kitchen could smell like, sometimes, but Steph never had much fresh bread, and she can't remember anyone in her family ever roasting meat, not properly.

But she smiles anyway, shaking her head a little at the apology.] I was gonna head to the training centre, but there's no set time I was planning to be there.

[So 'Lady Victoria' doesn't need to feel guilty, or anything.]

But I'll let you go, and see you later today?

[Since she should... make sure the apartment is nice. That might take a litle while.]

The kitchens have a staff of a hundred, mostly often, and they are always busy. Palaces are little cities, really.

[ and she misses it a great deal, to say the least. ]

I shall see you later today then, my lady. [ she has a happy smile on her face, because this felt nice. To have things to do and people to see. ]

[It's strange to think about a bustling castle. Wayne Manor is huge, but there's something haunting about it, empty, because there are so few people in such a large space.

But she doesn't say anything about that, just smiles.]
