If the Initiative is capable of time travel, then do they know our futures? Do they know their future? Is this all destined to succeed, or are they attempting to change what results in a failure?

[The device is handled roughly for a moment before it turns off with a sharp click.]

[The first questions are left in the realm of the rhetorical. Between the memories of the plague and older recollections of zombies (Not Thereth's kind, the actually BAD kind.) her not feeling well holds more importance to him. His fuzzy brows furrow with concern.]

They don't know shit about us, 'cause we're from different worlds. And their future changes every time we do something, so even if they knew what it was before, it don't count anymore.

But surely they know something about their future. And if we are in the present, and they are asking us to do things to change it, then....

[She trails off, having confused herself. And actually makes a bit of a grumbling noise.]

Every instance that we go back in time, we change that time's future. Yes? So they can see into futures, as they know what to have us do to change them. Then they must be able to see the future of this time.

Yeah, but that ain't even the point. What they're trying to change is now. Nobody cares about the future from here 'cause if we get it right, that future won't exist anymore.

We are always looking to the future. That is what changing now will do - fix the future.

What I'm saying is, no point in looking at something that won't be there once we do our job.

Looking at it helps to know what to do. And what not to do. Yet we are never sent into the future, are we? Only the past.

It seems as if they can see the past, at the minimum. But if they knew this venture would fail, I'm not sure they'd even attempt it--so either they don't know, or it's been seen to succeed.

Yes, that's a fair point. The Initiative has never been fully transparent, but with that being true, perhaps they are just as unsure as us. After all, their entire strategy is changing time.

Yes. And in that case, they are stumbling blindly with us right behind them.
