[For the last week, Johnny has been included in some intense training with Coby. His roommates may have noticed that he's been practically crawling back to the apartment and collapsing into bed in exhaustion. Which is saying something, coming from the guy whose genes give him what seemed like endless stamina.
Today, though, both roommates and anyone around the first floor of the apartment building might notice a very loud noise or something breaking. Specifically, it's the sound of a door getting quiickly ripped off its hinges, taking parts of the doorframe with it. Johnny just stands there, blinking, with nothing but the knob in his hand as it falls in front of him in splinters.
Seems like this training is working a lot better and a lot faster than he imagined. Sweet. If any of his roommates or neighbors come by, he gives them a tired smirk and shrugs.]
Honey, I'm home.

[Later he sends out a text totally unrelated to this little incident.]
So I was wondering
has anyone from our side ever try to sneak into the UE territory? you know, try to get information right from the source. see what they're up to, what they think of us. just curious.
Also i was wondering if people might be interested in helping with something. if the UE keeps bombing us or whatever they may do, we need a place to retreat to/live in/to protect people who can't fight. the catacombs are good but we need to make sure they can keep withstanding this sort of thing, plus I think we should keep a fair amount of supplies and stuff down there, etc. Thing is, i don't know a damn thing about repairs or checking to see if it's safe. i'm just a dumbass who punches shit for this army. but I think it's something we should look into, and i'd be willing to do whatever work horse stuff you needed out of me to get it done.

[It does not occur to Blaine that Johnny shouldn't have that kind of strength because reasons. Still not helping. Just laying and watching with mild interest.]

My friend must come from the most insane world where people can do the kinda shit he does. I didn't think him teachin' me would work, but I guess I was wrong. Shit. I'm almost afraid to touch my guitar in case I shatter it into bits tryin' to play a chord. You'd have to ask Coby how his training works. I don't get it, but it's clear it's doin' something. More than just wiping me out every day.
[Johnny shoots a frown in Blaine's direction.] Don't help or nothin', lazyass.

[Gordon says around the door he'd just picked up.]
The human body is a remarkable machine, capable of a lot, et cetera, but I think this goes a little beyond that.

[[Go on talking without him! I'll pop in if Blaine wants to make a snide comment or something.]]

It helps that I ain't human, Gordon. Not fully. I mean, I'm pretty sure Coby is, though. He calls these techniques, but they may as well be super powers. I'd show ya what he's taught me so far, but I'm pretty sure we don't want anythin' else in here destroyed.
