Second Curiosity [Video]

[The video opens to Celena's 30ft long draconic form standing at the edge of what looks to be a construction site, the area mostly cleared apart from what looks to be a pile of rubble on one side and ordered piles on the other as the tablet floats before her.]

Greetings.

I have a request to make to those who are interested and able, I am currently setting about constructing an abode suited to my needs and to practice my artifice without the need to take on my smaller forms.

To that end I would request that any who have experience with construction, or think themselves capable of heavy lifting that would like to assist in this endeavor contact me.

I would be quite willing to repay the services of those who assist me, whether with assistance with constructions of their own, repairs, or favours saved for a later date.

[With a gesture she projects the preliminary plans of the building in a semi-transparent illusion, quite clearly well planned.]

After I have finished with this, I intend to look into the possibility of constructing hardened shelters about the city for use should the catacombs ever be rendered unreachable.

Any who would wish to contribute in this matter, whether with construction, or insight on protections both mundane and magical, do not hesitate to contact me.

[With that she casts a smile to the tablet.]

[Amusement is quite clear on her features as she gives a nod to that. Replying quite calmly and cheerfully.]

I suppose that would be relatively accurate. Dragons differ wildly in size and general appearance from world to world, and even on the same world there may be many different species of dragon.

I have the ability to take on a number of forms, it would be quite difficult to enter buildings in my true form.

[She crosses her arms across her chest, raising an eyebrow as if to say 'are you quite done yet?' although its quite clear its more out of amusement than frustration.]

[Sorry, he's still trying to wrap his mind around all of this. Dragons have long been extinct where he's from; even if she doesn't look like his kind of dragon, it's pretty remarkable.]

Would you happen to have any experience or wish to aid with a construction project?

Right! Yes! [Mission Focus Bolin: Success!] I've done a little construction in my time. I'm also an earthbender. I can definitely help you out!

[ Well... while he's never had a chat with one before, this isn't Jake's first time seeing a dragon even prior to coming to this world. Boy, he wonders if the ones from home could talk like this, but were just too ornery to do so.

You happen to be in luck! Thanks to my time spent here I've become something of an expert in construction and home repairs.

Wait! Hold on a sec. I need to get a pen to jot this down.

[ He's looking down, and while the video cuts off anything below his elbows it's pretty clear he's rummaging around for drawing supplies. ]

You know I'm not a heavy lifter and I don't have the supplies to build a lifting machine, but I can assist with design if you'd like.

But hell, it seems unlikely to eat him and there's no chance it's related to him - he'll class that as an improvement over the last one he met. He clears his throat pretty quickly.]

I don't know about that, but building doesn't sound like the hard part. About shelters, though... what're you going to look into, exactly? Locations? Or, you know, actual materials to build from?

Heavy by human standards. Moving materials from location to location.More hands make quicker work after all.

All aspects of the feasibility of such shelters. I have experience in constructing such shelters in past, but yes, materials and locations are a factor.

I currently have a number of preliminary locations that may prove feasible, from my flights and efforts rebuilding. I would certainly be willing to take further input to that side of things however.

Proper sources of suitable materials for such hardened construction would be something I would certainly be looking into.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Yeah? Design counts, too. It's not like we know what we'll need these things to shelter people from next.

But if it's just thoughts you want, I think planning this stuff out is a good idea. You talked to any of the other people trying to get this kind of thing organised?

Indeed, there are many possibilities to guard against. Whether against attack, air or ground based, or from natural or induced environmental such as extreme adverse weather.

Thoughts or aid would both be welcome. The idea was prompted by another bringing up such a matter, I have yet to find any other individuals immediately organizing such an endeavor. I intend to seek any out however.

Really? Sometimes it seems to me like every other person in this city is buzzing about a separate one. Talking about relief, defenses, reconstruction, committees, all kinds of crap... But if we all individually spend our time just reinventing the wheel, nobody will get anywhere worthwhile. Any scientist knows that.

Indeed, little would be achieved if all were working to the same goal without organization. That was part of the reason for my mentions of it here, so that others may know of it.

You have a measure of scientific experience I would assume then? In what manner of fields?
