001 | (accidental) voice
[There's the sounds of a scuffle---with a girl's voice cursing and complaining about 'stupid idiots, I'm not handing over my marques or whatever the money here's called! I told that little girl I'd buy her some bread!' ---when the tablet's voice feed suddenly clicks on:]
Okay, now let me get this straight. We're supposed to be soldiers, off fighting this war, right? So tell me this---
[The girl speaking quickly grunts as she dodges the thugs' attacks. The sounds of her footsteps make a scurrying noise as if she quickly backpedaled away. Afterward, she takes a deep, irritated breath.]
---isn't part of our job supposed to be keeping the peace? Why are there still moron thugs running around?
[After she poses this inquiry, there's the sound of electricity cracking, and the tablet suddenly shuts off.]
[ooc: tags might be slow, sorry! action tags are welcome as well, for anyone who's up for it!]

Re: voice ---> action;
Then, there was the outfit. The frills and designs would probably remind of Misaki more than anyone else, other than the black color scheme and the hat.
More importantly, there was the smile of someone who was aware, but not laden with any kind of intention.*
Hey. Welcome to Exsilium.

Of course, what's of a small comfort to her is that she's not getting tackle-glomped to the ground. Which is something Kuroko would also do. Mikoto laughs a bit at the thought of that---funny how she's thinking of it---but she ultimately shakes her head and gives Pidonus a slight grin.]
Thanks. Can't say I had the best welcoming committee [She huffs and rolls her eyes.], but I guess I'll settle only because I got to zap them a new one. That was pretty fast, though.
[She raises an eyebrow.]
You have powers, too?

Pidonus Marasia, Bard. You?

[Mikoto sighs irritably and scratches the back of her head, eventually crossing her arms.]
I'm Mikoto. Misaka Mikoto. I'm...an Esper. A Level 5 Electromaster, to be more specific. Trust me, I didn't come up with that title myself. [She waves her hand dismissively, as if it's really nothing special. She seems more exasperated than proud, though. Still, 'Bard'? That sounds like something out of one of her video games!]
A bard, huh? Does that mean music is your power? Although I can see why these Initiative guys would need someone like that. It's kinda easy to forget about stuff when you're listening to a good song...

Music is the centerpiece of a set of powers, though. I have a bunch of techniques that use it, plus some arcane magic, plus I can fake my way through most skills.

[She rolls her eyes, huffing. The one good thing about this was that Pidonus was at least a stranger, so she wouldn't fawn and preen over Mikoto like she were royalty----because Mikoto really, really found that awkward more than anything. Nevermind annoying.]
But I had to work to get to that point. Still...magic? Like magic as in...spells?
[Guess that kind of explained the 'bard' thing. Mikoto frowns. Mages, however, were written off as more or less an urban legend back home---and weren't particularly viewed in a positive light for some reason in spite of that.
But now she's curious. Mikoto gets up from the railing she was leaning on, putting her hands on her hips.]
What kind of spells can you do?
no subject
And, yeah. Spells. I get a mix of enchantments, illusions, and bits and pieces from most other schools, in addition to my Bardic Music talents, which aren't technically magical. They call on a slightly more primal power, thus why they can inspire courage and then also make your weapons or fists hit harder and channel enough lightning to stun most species of element.

[Mikoto scratches her head. No wonder people are so paranoid about it back home. It sounded dangerous, even more so than her own powers, and she was one of the few Level 5 Espers in existence.]
So...basically, by playing music...you stir up emotions, which strengthens someone else's power. That is pretty interesting.
[She looks back to the orphanage.]
The Initiative really will take what they can get, huh? With so many different people with different powers, you'd think they'd have won by now. [She grumbles a bit.] Unless these United Earth guys are really that powerful?

On a scale of one to ten...how strong would you consider them?

A Demon Lord or Middle Deity could probably take them head-on, but we don't stand a chance.
