So this happened. [He shrugs the shoulder that is not a cat perch.] I was near the ruins and... Well, she followed me home, you might say. As in she staged a hostile takeover of my hoodie pocket.

[He looks a little uncomfortable. Watch out, Axel, your squishy side might be showing.]

I think she's still too small to take care of herself, you know? So... [Fidget fidget. The little cat blinks at the screen, then turns to look at Axel and impulsively bonks her head against his jaw. Great. Cat, you're not helping that squishy side showing thing at all.] I've never had a cat before.

Hm? I didn't know you needed something on paper. [ Adoption requires papers...? And when you word it that the cat adopted him instead... that just gives Sophie weird thoughts. ] Then wouldn't that make the cat a mother?

I mean calling me a father is a little extreme in the case of pets, I think. And she kind of adopted me inasmuch as she's the one who decided to come home with me more than I picked her out on purpose.

Extreme? [ She shakes her head. Hey, she once had a pet rabbit and immediately decided she'd become a mother. She does this with her flowers back home too... ] No... I don't think so. Pets are like friends and family, I think.
