I think I have the hang of using this thing! [She laughs lightly but it gets cut off as the feed suddenly goes dead. Like it was turned off.

A few minutes later it comes back on and she's laughing again, sheepishly.] Whoopise! Maybe not.

There's a lot of new people here again, so... welcome! Actually, I had a question for people who have been here for a long time.

How did you figure out your weapon? Everyone's weapon must do something special, right? They made a big deal about that when I got here. Mine is my own from my home world but I can't figure out if it does anything different or not.

It'll just happen. They change in order to make you a more competent soldier. Perhaps your weapon hasn't had that drastic of a change yet because your skills with it as it is still need to be worked on. Train more in that case.

Train more? [There's a definite whine to her voice.] I'm a really good fighter already, you know! And this weapon has been through a lot already! It seems like all they did was make it worse in that case.

Mine...I didn't figure out at first, but after I kept using it, it started changing more to how it's supposed to be used. Maybe if you practice more with it, it will do the same?

Maybe... but it already did plenty of things. It didn't really need another power added to it. What does your weapon do?

I haven't been here that long, although I do believe the more you train with your weapon, the faster it may reveal its abilities to you.

It's hard to say. Sparring with someone may not be easier, but it's helpful in the long run.

He seems to be unsure what it's doing to him, and has suggested I might wish to find another weapon from the Initiative and have this imbuement changed to it.

Yes. A great deal. Occasionally I despair of his being quiet.

...well, not THAT badly. But he says he was a lecturer at an academy before his spirit entered the sword, and he talks like one.

He was that way before I came here, though. Until we make sure there won't be any damage, neither of us are willing to change things.

Well, I all ready knew what my weapon was because I chose him. In a way, he kinda is my weapon from home... [Yes, she is being a little vague. Sorry.]

Although, I learned what my abilities were during the bombings. I've only been here for two months, so....I don't know if it's normal to take so long to figure out what your powers are. I should have figured it out much sooner, but...the forced training didn't really help much and I've been trying to figure things out too. [She got easily distracted by looking for clothes mainly. But that is a long story!]

Anyway! I suggest training or scaring your abilities out of you. I mean, they should activate on their own when you most need it. Although, it might just depend on the power you were given.... [In other words, she has no idea about the proper way of getting them out without getting somewhat hurt along the way.]

Well... everyone keeps suggesting training so that seems like the best bet, huh? I wouldn't mind knowing what my weapon does beforehand in case I need to use it more precisely or something. [Discovering it in the heat of battle without any real control over it might be dangerous...]

Only two month and you already found out? That isn't so bad. I thought it would be a lot longer... but I guess it's different for everyone?

It seems like it's definitely the general consensus then. Training, training, and more training is always the best thing to do. Maybe you should search for someone to work alongside with until you could figure it all out? I think...it might be the only safe suggestion I can offer you. [A light laugh at the thought because she can't help realize the advice she had just given a few moments ago.]

Yup! It took us a while, but if it helps...we were mostly preoccupied with strengthening our abilities from home, then trying to actually explore and figure things out. We both discovered our new found abilities when we were in a pinch. [A life-threatening one, at that.] But, like you said, it differs from person to person. Some will find out instantly while others will take more time. [Quickly, she will add.] Although, I think it takes longer for those without powers than those with them... [It's only a guess though.]

Did you have any type of abilities back in your world?

[Oh, it's Vanille! Rise had been wondering what she's been up to... it's mostly out of the impulse to talk with her some more that she begins to answer.]

Mine's kinda weird... I dunno if it's really useful as a weapon, but it helps with my job at the café!

[A pause...]

... Well, I think I might have an idea what it does now, but...

[... Yeah, nope. Not volunteering that information easily.]

Huh? It helps at a café? Well now you have to tell me what it does! It sounds neat!

... I think it lets me play different roles... like acting, but in real life! So when I sing at the café, it gives me a costume and headset and everything...

... There's more to it than that! But I haven't figured all of it out yet...

It was all rather sudden, in my case. And it took quite some before I was even able to exert any degree of control over it.

Yeah, you're right. They made it sound like they'd do something really amazing, but I'm not sure if I've noticed anything with Excalibur yet or not. It still feels about the same.

[Maybe it just takes a while. If that's the case, he'll train hard!]

Hey. If you don't mind my asking, what type of weapon is it that you're using?

Yeah! So far it's just the same old, travel worn thing I've always had. No new strings that do anything special either!

[They could have at LEAST given her a brand new one.]

It's called a binding rod. You have to swing it around and release the three wires at the top. They can snare an enemy and trap them. It requires a lot of accuracy. It took me a long time to master it.
