[Believe it or not, even ethereal elves get stressed. Working in the clinic almost nonstop since the battle has taken a toll on Galadriel and, even worse, Celebrían had been affected. Most seriously affected. It had only reinforced the fact that, however she might try, Galadriel could not protect her daughter as she wished to. Not unless she were to lock her in a tower and- well, Thingol’s example wasn’t something she wanted follow here.

Frustration, anger, and a deep seated feeling of guilt and failure fuel her lately. She’s aware that’s not exactly healthy, though, so she’s taking some time to herself- and what better way to sooth her soul than to do some gardening?

It’s nothing major, just a little empty lot near the holds that she’s taken charge of- and for the moment, it’s nothing more than a few vegetables and herbs here and there. Mostly what she’s been able to scrounge up in the marketplace or useful things that she’s found growing wild in the city. But it feels good to have some connection to nature, to surround herself with growing things again. And, of course, having Nenya with her means that the garden has a little boost. You can feel it, really- it’s a feeling of safety, of comfort, and of life. It’s not obvious magic, at least not to anyone who isn’t familiar to that sort of thing, but it’s there.]

It occurs to me that, in some ways, I have been neglectful of your instruction. It is clear to me now that what skill you have in swordcraft is not sufficient for the dangers of this place.

[Sohki could feel the change in the air, which was why the kirin was drawn to the area. He had never been one to deny his curiosity, and while he walked blind through the world, he could still see everything going on around him - especially the frustration and anger that filled the air as he caught sight of the woman among the small garden outside of the apartment building.]

It is rare to find such plants within the city.

[ooc: they have almost identical powers, funnily enough lol so she'd be able to at least sense that the human appearance that Sohki shows isn't actually his true form.]

[It's possible Sonic could feel the tug and pull of that magic in a dull instinctual sense; he's certainly closer to his critterlike roots than most of the people in Exsilium. Or, maybe he's just attracted to the novelty of actually seeing something growing for a change. In any case, once he discovered the garden he'd stopped by occasionally, shuffling thorough it, peering at the plants, and wondering just who is doing all this...?]

[On the stop when he does happen upon the Lady, he's happy to see her, and maybe a little surprised.]

Oh hi, Galadriel!

[Not one for titles or elaborate salutations, this one. He waves from his perch on a bit of broken wall along the corner.]

[Tenpou has always been a fan of understatement. Strangely, as much as he'd have said he'd be happy to never see another magically grown plant before he came here, he would have apparently been very wrong. The little plot is somehow strangely comforting, even if the last thing anyone would have bothered with back home would have been a vegetable garden.]

[His hands had been rewrapped yet again, the healing skin under the gauze itching and scabbing nicely. The injuries kept him from doing what he normally would do, thus instead of working on his building or playing the piano or even exercising, he was just walking and taking in the warmer weather and the new people arriving in streams. The peace surrounding her garden had stopped him in his wanderings, so head cocked and a frown forming on plush lips, he watched her.]

I did not take you for a gardener, lady.

[ Kaede is on her way out of the apartments, her mind racing as she zips her hoodie up. There are whispers of some sort of sickness going around, and, being in a strange place, she wants to make sure to cover up her skin and be wary of everyone.

She slows down as she sees someone in the empty lot for once. She has thought times before that it was an unintended garden, something someone took care of once and then forgot about. But there is someone there, and she doesn't know why, but it pulls her over, and now she stands inside of this lot. Whatever pulls her in relaxes her enough that she closes her eyes, memories of home, her grandmother, and her garden, and she opens them to focus on the person. ]

Um, hello, is this your garden?

[She looks up, offering a slight smile and looking over this newcomer. Curious, curious indeed. But whatever she sense, she says nothing of it.]

That is precisely the reason for my efforts.

[She glances up at him with a soft smile. Whatever she's actually feeling, she's not going to share it with near strangers.]

There is not, as of yet. I am aware you are injured, but I recall you offering your services as a smith. Once your arm has healed properly, I would like very much to commission a sword, if you are willing. [Whatever she may think of him personally, she wants the best and there are no weapons finer than those of dwarven make.]

[She pauses long enough to look up with a quizzical expression. She would say quite the contrary, in fact; there is very little that is older than working the land.]

[There was a sense of great age and power as he stared at her. The scent on the air told him that she wasn't human, despite her appearance, but he couldn't quite place just what that scent was. Elves, after all, didn't exist in his world.]

There aren't many who could do such a thing, let alone produce vegetables.

[Nic doesn't see much greenery back home, and most of what is there is weeds or dying. So when he passes by this little plot of land, he's gonna stop and...poke the plants.]

Did you not? [She looks ups, smiling softly, somehow still looking elegant even with dirt underneath her fingernails.]

Would that you could see my gardens in Lórien. This is but a beginning; those I have tended for many hundreds of years.

[Masterful as he trained his face to be like stone, to mask his doubts and vulnerability in front of elves and other races, his reaction is too quick to pull back.

A thread appears between his brows as he thins his eyes, and he opens his mouth before words come to it.]

You mean to fight, my Lady.

[She frowns. Why do so many have that reaction? Is it really so difficult to imagine her fighting?]

I have a sword already. I mean to arm my daughter properly, as I should have done before this.

I hope it will be, in time. It is scarcely worth calling a garden as it is.

[Not by her standards, anyway. But the work itself is soothing and she looks the better for it.]

[Well, that wasn't something she was expecting. There's a little laugh from behind him and if he turns he will find one very amused elf woman.]

Did you have anything in particular you were planning on growing? [ She is going to walk around and move closer to this woman. ]

[He senses her, but not any sort of malice or killing intent, so he just looks up to identify who it is. He's got a leaf between thumb and forefinger and he tugs on it a little, feeling the texture.]

It is something of a talent of mine. [And it's true. Even without Nenya, she'd have a skill with growing things.]

[Dagger's been keeping to herself mostly since the incident in Elmer's world. She had fought so hard, and yet in the end it wasn't good enough. She was so weak...]

[Either way, she is prone to go on walks and explore. And that's how she finds her way to Galadriel's garden. She's got a white coat on with red triangles on the edges, while holding a red umbrella. Bright colors in a dreary area. She looks amazed at the garden- and not just that, but the feeling of magic as well]

And quite a talent it is~ Although if if you continue to allow such emotions to run rampant through your soul, you might find the vegetables souring before they have finished growing. That would be quite the shame after all of your work.
