Y'all really know how ta discuss, you know that? I'm very impressed.

_{( He's not, actually. He thinks the talking around such matters is a waste of time, and also a way to show the Initiative their hand. But he doesn't say so. )}

But I have ta say, all this bleak talk ain't really for me. Can't keep at it for very long. Désolé.

So, for those of you who care ta lighten the mood, here's a game. First player--that'd be me, I like ta deal--gives you a word. You say the first thing that comes ta your mind, after that. An' y'keep goin', over an' over, until someone cracks an' has ta ask the reasonin' behind your answer.

Back home, some humans are classified as NEXT. They have an unknown mutation that causes them to have some sort of power, or powers. Some of them even use their powers to become Heroes!

Right! It sounds like you come from the same world as Nathan? He mentioned mutants to me before.

That's right. We're, ah... _{( "Teammates" isn't entirely accurate, anymore. )}

We're both mutants.

Got it. He had mentioned to me that the relationship between humans and mutants isn't that great, since back home the NEXT who become Heroes are like celebrities.

I think a couple a' us tried that. Didn't work out so well.

Though celebrity might be more trouble than it's worth.

[ She laughs softly. ] Maybe another time!

They seem to handle it rather well. Only one of the Heroes' identities is known, but that's only because he wanted the public to know his face.

I'm glad. That it worked out, fo' them.
