[The camera turns on, focused on a small, seventeen year old girl. She looks rather odd, with strange jewelry (earrings that look like radishes and a necklace that looks like it’s made of corks) and protuberant eyes that make her look almost perpetually surprised. She gives the camera a vague, dreamy smile.]

Hello, there. I’ve been trying to acquaint myself with the place, but I suppose I should also acquaint myself with the people. I’m Luna, Luna Lovegood. I don’t think it’s so bad here. It’s better than the place I was not too long ago, though I don’t like to think about that. It makes me sad. I think it would be worse if you had friends back home, though. I’m not quite sure if I have friends.

[She stares off dreamily into space for a few minutes before looking back at the camera.]

I was curious as to what kind of creatures roam this place. I should very much like to see them. And if you know any places to explore, I would like that very much as well.

Company would be appreciated, but isn’t necessary. I’ll be fine.

[She hums a tune of her own creation for a few minutes before finally shutting off the device.]

[She doesn't really know what makes people friends. It's an honest, blunt question. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Neville were important to her, but was she important to them?]

( He could never say no to that, it'd be cruel. It's something he's too familiar with, although there's something a little amusing that she'd ask. )

[She pauses, feeling shy. But he said they were friends, right?]

Would you like to get some tea?

[bumbles]

( The unfortunate thing with meeting people in person is that then they can hear him speak. Or... not speak. Not speak well.

However, she's a teenage girl who said she didn't think she had friends at home to miss and make it harder, or friends here to go look at weird creatures with, and that is too familiar. This isn't a place to not have friends. )

Tea would be nice. There's a place called the NORAH cafe. Do you know where it is?

Oh, yes. I remember seeing that place. Shall we meet there?

[bumbles]

Okay. I'll head there now. Turn up whenever you like.

( A moment and he switches briefly to private, video just to show her his face, wave super awkwardly, and then switch it off. Just so she knows who to look for.

And, then, he's heading straight there, scruffy and exhausted as he is, positioning himself in a corner so he can just-- not be overwhelmed, being in the middle. )

[Luna walks in a few minutes later, wearing colorful overalls and mismatching rainboots. She sees him in the corner and waves. She walks over and smiles dreamily.]

Hello, Donny. You look tired.

[Blunt as always, Luna.]

[bumbles]

( oh, yeah. He can spot the kind of person the bullies in his high school would have been at at a hundred paces. He almost flinches, a nervous spasm tugging his mouth, before he glances down. )

H-hi. I'm uh, I'm p-pretty t-tired, yeah.

( Awkwardly, he swallows air, tries to figure his way around more words, and instead nudges the chair opposite him with his foot to push it out for her. )
