( Audio picks up the sound of industrial construction, either things familiar in woodshop, car garages, or anywhere of a similar sort. When the feed goes live, Collette is framed to one side, looking forward and away from the camera.  She's clearly resting on her arms, and given the angle of the ground on the screen, she's probably lying on her stomach in order to do this.  She glances over her shoulder, eyes going to something behind the tablet being used for recording, then smiles as her eyes drop down to the tablet itself.  For all intents and purposes, the camera is positioned to make the viewing audience seem like they're side by side with Collette, wherever it is she is, keeping a low profile in this industrialized looking area.  Concrete floor that she's resting on, packing boxes ahead of her, bundles of cables and chains glimpsed somewhere past her head. )

Guys!  ( She keeps her voice low, not a whisper (they carry further, and can't be heard about the ambient noise), but low to avoid excessive attention. )  Anyone else catch where they dragged the ship off to with that giant crane after the crash? I wondered about that. But I've got news!

( She makes a waving motion at the camera, and it shifts, jarringly, to leave Collette off screen and show something covered in plastic and wiring and cables, a few Initiative workers using welding guns, others wheeling parts away or calling out shouts of questions over the sounds of construction. )

They say the spaceship's salvageable!

[ He blinks, laughs, and scratches at the side of his face. Digit moving over the visible scars. ]

( Caesar asking if she planned on doing this to everyone flashes through the back of her mind, so she tones down what she otherwise wants to say. Being polite? Okay, funny that remembering Caesar prompts her to that, of all things, considering he was generally rude through a lack of caring to be otherwise, but it does.

It's very nice to meet you, Garrus! May I ask what the name of your species is? You're so interesting looking! What world are you from? I mean, what's the name of your home?

[recalibrates]

[ WOAH TWENTY QUESTIONS. ]

Nice to meet you too. [ That's what you say right? Funny, he only now has noticed a lot of his meetings with new people aren't just casual. Usually there is something big going on. Like a firefight, or the universe being in danger. ]

Well, I'm a Turian- you've probably never heard of us. And my homeworld is called Palaven. It's uh... home. [ How do to explain your home world to someone who has probably only ever known one? ]

So you're from your homeworld? You look really cool! Are all Turians like you? I mean, in basic features, not like -- you know, exactly like you. What kind of species have you run into in your universe? Turians are new to me!

( This game of twenty questions never stops. Not ever! )

Generally speaking yeah, though there are some differences. [ Idly scratches the blue markings on his face. ]

There are a lot of races. [ A beat and he taps the tablet, for a few seconds he starts to almost... scribble? Garrus, what are you doing. ] But you've got the Asari- they look a lot like humans... expect they're blue. Then you've got the Salarians, they tend to talk a lot. [ What? It's a pretty apt description. ] There is also the Krogan, nasty fellows generally angry ninety percent of the time- with morbid sense of humor also. Hanar, imagine a giant jelly fish that glow. [ A beat. ] You've also got Drell, Batarians, Vorcha-[ A SIGH, look he's going to send this image to her right now. ]

I'm not much of an artist.

Hahaha, but I like this drawing! Wait -- I think Wrex is a Krogan. Are they big and red and longtime fighters? It'd be so cool if you're from the same universe he's from!

( Why yes indeed, that is the first thing she comes away with. )

You've got a lot more humanoid species -- um. What word do you use for it, though? Bipedal? There's more you've run into than I have from my universe!

[recalibrates]

Wrex? [ WAIT WHAT? HOLD THE PHONE- ] Wrex was here?

( Not just the phone, but the whole telephone company! )

That's so crazy! Wrex was here for months, then he went back home the way most people do. He was great! Man... you just missed him! ... Okay, by more than just a just, but still!

[recalibrates]

Probably should work on my timing a little more. [ Hahaha... ] Maybe he'll come back when he hears his favorite turian has touched down.
