[ she's put this off for almost a month now. what with looking out for madoka, keeping an eye on oriko mikuni, examining the surrounding areas and moving in with three other magical girls... there simply hasn't been time for something as frivolous as this. nonetheless, it's something that needs to happen at some point, and thus she has holed herself up in her room with her tablet at the ready.

today is the day homura akemi finally contacts the network.

when the feed comes on, a young woman with long black hair can be seen. some of you may already know her, for any number of reasons; her cool, formal demeanor is in effect as always, even if it's significantly less icy than it's been over the past few weeks. ]

My name is Homura Akemi. I arrived here a little over one month ago, and I've been working on settling in ever since. [ her words have a certain practiced, muted tone to them, as does the slight bow she gives the camera. ] It's nice to meet you all.

[ she closes her eyes, takes a breath, exhales- when she finally opens her eyes again, she resumes speaking in that controlled way of hers. ]

If the network is reliable, I've been to this place several times already. As such, some of you have likely met me before. I'd be very interested in meeting with anyone I once knew.

[ a slight pause, another breath, and then- ]

Thank you for your time.

[ and with that, she unceremoniously reaches out and closes the feed. ]

I see.

[ there are so many things that could mean - so many tiny implications branching off from that simple statement. how much does he know? just what have the others shown him? is this person safe enough to trust near madoka's presence?

but there's no sense in jumping to conclusions just yet. so she gathers herself together, asking in a polite- ]

Kaworu Nagisa, just how long have you known the two of them?

[hm. somehow, this person doesn't seem like someone Madoka would consider a friend. Homura's a bit detached for someone as warm as her. But at the same time, all Kaworu knew was the name, not any details about their relationship.

This is interesting.]

I believe Madoka and Sayaka were here when I arrived, or arrived at the same time. I guess that makes it about four months, now.

HERP late as heck but-

[turns]

Is that so?

[ four months? four months is a long time, to be certain; long enough to warrant asking madoka about this individual. (or perhaps not; too much prying might frighten her. she'll figure out a course of action later, one way or another.) ]

I hope you've kept an eye out for them. They are my classmates, after all.

[ the tone with which she says things is so polite, an almost cold contrast to the warmth of her words. still, she doesn't appear angry or frustrated - if anything, she seems more engaged than she has in any of the past video responses. ]

I know Sayaka better than Madoka. It's Sayaka, and Kyouko too, who have kept an eye out for me.

[Kaworu can appreciate politeness and formality, even though it feels a little different with this person. There's more there... under the surface, maybe. Even moreso than with Sayaka and Kyouko.]

I suppose you would also be a magical girl?

[turns]

[ homura's a very collected kind of person, one that holds nearly complete control over every aspect of her presentation by this point - so the only hint of the intense irritation at that question is the brief moment in which she closes her eyes, breathes in, and refocuses her gaze.

well, as long as it's out in the open like this, there's no sense in evading the question. ]

Yes, that would be correct. One of many. [ she pauses once again, finally continuing with a carefully chosen: ] I suppose you've seen them in combat, then?

Not at all. I've only seen Sayaka and Kyouko in their special clothes a couple times.

[he doesn't really participate in missions, and there aren't any witches in this world for them to fight. either way, if they've had a reason to fight here, he hasn't been there to see it.]
