[Video] May 6th - Mid afternoon

[This is the second time only that he's used video function, only because he knows about a suspicious paranoid fellow Guild member who will demand to see him. He looks wind-swept, tired and grumpy, the latter of which is basically his usual expression.

He's standing to one side of a building that's he come in front, and he nods his head at someone off screen before he finally looks at the camera.]

At least the other place was hospitable. This place is still the same, though I see the addition of a flying machine has been added. I missed out on some entertainment. [He doesn't particularly sound enthused and his eyes narrow dangerously.] I'll be interested to hear some of your adventures in a private talk. [Maybe at gunpoint.]

[He openly sneers before changing to private setting. Someone woke on up the wrong side of the hovercraft.]

[He still looks grumpy and unhappy, but there's more hardness in his expression as well. This is business first.]

Meet at the usual place. Did you settle my contract in my absence?

I took on a new contract. [ One that she needs to complete before coming to see you. She's already on the move to do that and shouldnt be too late. She may be using video, but her usual smiling features are gone as she regarded the feed with a neutral expression.]

[He stares at the feed for a long moment before shaking his head a little.] An unpleasant one by the look of it.

Far less than deserved. [Her eyes are as cold as ice as her lips pull up into a pleasant smile.] The contract is still yours to settle.

It's unlike you to take it easy on anyone. [He's already thinking about what she's probably done.] It will be settled when the person in question can offer intelligent conversation.

I had no desire to waste my time. [She also had to take a day to recover from her own poisoning. While it can't be seen over the feed, she is definitely more pale while moving through the city.] Then you will need to wait two, three more days at most.

Squealed that quickly, hmm? [He doesn't look amused by the idea, and he knows her methods well enough to know what she will chose first and move to second.] I do hope there isn't permanent damage.

He is rather uneducated for a Silverberg. [He would guess correctly, but she didn't think Caesar could survive her usual tactics.] He should recover fully in a week.

Untested, you mean. He's still quite young, but he's learned a valuable lesson now. [He knows she will have to recover as well. He hasn't been gone that long after all.] That's good. I don't like negotiating with someone not fully in their senses.

We will see how he applies himself from now. [She's a stubborn woman. Not even her recovery would stop her.] Indeed. It would be an insult to one of your station, Guild Master.

He won't underestimate the Guild any longer. [He's well-aware that she will be at their appointed meeting place as quickly as she can. He takes his time moving in that direction, giving her opportunity to be there before him if she likes.] Any other matters of business to report?

He would be a fool to if he does. [ She's actually more interested to see how he holds himself, and thank you Clive, she's on her way there now.] There is nothing else of significance. The mission they wished us to attend, I remained behind.

Silverbergs are generally not fools. [He's almost there himself, though he is still taking his time to meet with her.] Nothing that could benefit us?

No, and I suppose we will see if that is a tradition that holds in the future generations. [So kind of you, Clive. She should be there in another five minutes.] Not at all. I've no interest in demolition. It's a waste of our skills.

I have some faith in bloodlines. [Funny, since he has no idea his own bloodline. He doesn't concentrate that as he moves to the overhang of the building to get out of the rain.] It's better for the apprentices.

Heh, that is no surprised, handsome. [She's almost there now, and is too distracted to notice your presence.] Mmm quite. Be seeing you soon.

[It's a good sign if she's calling him that nickname. Maybe she won't hurt him too bad.] Yes, keep a weathered eye and I'll see you soon.

'Entertainment' isn't the word I'd use.

I've been wondering, actually. How did you manage to get lost in the first place?

You weren't there to witness the arrival of the space ship I seem to recall.

[He sounds annoyed.] I wasn't lost. I was left behind because clearly a space ship is more important when the UE is chasing after a group stealing their goods so obviously.

I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard enough.

Ah... well. That was pretty thoughtless, then, but I don't know how I would have acted in that situation. The spaceship did turn out to be a pretty good bargaining chip.

I've heard that it's impressive.

Who knows. I made a contract, and despite my own situation, I was where I was supposed to be. They were not. It will be interesting if the bargain works in all of our favour.

And if it doesn't? Will it all have been for nothing?

My contract was initially negotiated before I left. I still get my fee technically. However, thanks to you and Samus, I can actually collect.

[ Well, what did he get... a Hovercraft he doesn't even get to keep and an uncomfortable run-in with a UE patrol. Wonderful, but at least he did something useful. ]

I suppose it was. There was valuable information to gather.

[ There he was. He'd wondered if Clive had hit up the network when he finally returned. Part of him really didn't want to reply, not wanting another close encounter of the Howling Voice kind so soon, but silence would only make it so much more worse.

None of it was Clive's fault, in any case. ]

Either stop by the hospital or wait another day for them to release me. Then I should be able to meet you at Unit 407.

I have other matters to deal with currently. We can arrange a day that conveniences us both.

Very well. I can make any day convenient for me, so just let me know when.

I must be worth something if you're willing to give any day. Clearly not wishing to stir the wrath of Elza. Four days time and I will come to pay you a visit.
