The network hasn't been this chaotic since the bombing runs, and your shouting is starting to give me a headache. Just what is going on out there? Some kind of accident at the Hold?

Incidentally, I tried actually tracing the results of our incident with the monk and the shaved ham. It may put a damper on the mirth of the situation.

Pretty bad. I think they are going to have to rebuild most of it.

I know, right? But I'm glad, it would not win the Initiative any trust if people died.

Oh, no! The people who stole it did. I guess they stole it from the UE and brought it here to try and bribe the Initiative? Which is kind of silly because you don't really need to do that!

They control the time machine, yes, but because only we can use it without changing our own pasts, there was a cautious balance. Now we have a United Earth vessel as another bargaining chip. The balance of power is shifting, and change is going to come one way or another.

And not least of all, I have to admit to a certain amount of curiosity as to what our comrades found during their excursion among the enemy.

I guess so! I just hope they don't try to get them to send all of us home or something.

A crash. The housing complex is, for all intents and purposes, out of commission.

The weapons on that ship would have prevented a corrupt, violent regime from taking control of the area. I haven't been able to trace ALL the results, but it seems we are now responsible for centuries of chaos, misery and oppression.

C'mon man, that can't be right. We're supposed to be helping<\I> people with these missions. It wouldn't make sense otherwise...

Well there's still over a thousand years of history to sift through. The possibility remains however that our goal all along was to make the area a corrupt mess for UE to deal with, draining their resources.

I've been thinking about just that.

Putting aside the question of how we would go about stealing the Initiative's time machine or what would happen if we ran into our past selves, I'm wondering if we even should.

I don't know if you've looked across the channel to the south, but I have. United Earth has left this world mostly in ruins.

I figured that was why we absolutely should! The whole point of bein' here is to make the world a better place!

[Sonic is by no means stupid, but he's used to simpler logic. Bad guys do bad stuff, good guys do good stuff. He literally cannot parse a nasty outcome from a good intention, even though the proof has stared him in the face already.]
