[The network contains no shortage of complaints about problems in this place. Who the Initiative chooses to pull in, uncertainties and angry demands for purpose, even complaints about the weather. But there's one problem that has, as a whole, received very little attention.

Until now.

When the feed turns on, it's clear that the video function has been activated, but the camera isn't aimed at anything particularly interesting (just a wall). All that's really noteworthy is a constant sound in the background, something between a growl and a low-pitched meow. Clearly identifiable as being of feline origin.

Yes, from the sound of it, someone is now a victim of Exsilium's stray cat problem. Or, at the very least, of one particularly persistent stray cat.

This persists for a few long moments until a female voice, carrying a distinct hint of exasperation, adds to the soundtrack.]

Does this [A yowl of protest later, a cat, a skinny, orange, mangy little thing, comes into focus] belong to anyone?

[Going once.... going twice....

No, seriously, someone claim this cat or she's probably going to cook it B'|]

[Instinct would say that that prospect is impossible. Who would want this? But she knows someone who would. Someone who loved a mangy, unpleasant, horrible thing with all her heart, and still does.

No, she doesn't know another person as kind and gentle as her little sister, but maybe it's possible.]

[Another mouth to feed. That was her main qualm the first time around. Even if this isn't District 12, even if her current situation is different, she's still averse to the idea.]

No. [Her tone implies that there won't be one, either.]

[She smiles a little, but it's hard to tell at what, exactly.] I think you've done what you can already, right?

[It doesn't sound like she's being insincere. She adds:] I can feed it, and ask around for veterinary care.

What about "Gilbert" if it's a boy?

( TOTALLY IGNORING HER TONE )

Aww, the poor thing looks famished. No wonder it sounds angry. Sadly it's not mine but if no one claims it, maybe I can take care of it.

[Yes she's a god who's mostly got an affinity for foxes but cats still hold a soft spot for Saori.]

[Thereth generally tries to let Katniss have her space, considering it to be good roommate manners, but the yowling is very interesting for curious moocows. Have a large head sticking out from one of the rooms.]

Do we have a new roommate?

Oh, the poor thing! It's in such a state, it needs looking after. I'll take it, I'm good with cats! Please? [She was brought up by one, after all.]

[In a way, despite how vile and despicable (and very Buttercup-esque) this little creature is, she can't help but feel for it. After all, she has more than intimate knowledge of what it's like to be hungry. Perhaps in all of her annoyance, that's part of what drove her to the network in the first place.]

[Admittedly, Katniss still isn't entirely sure what to think of her roommate, despite the time that has passed. A walking cow that can talk... if that's something that doesn't make her cry "mutt." Even now, when the voice lets her know she's no longer alone, when she spots evidence out of the corner of her eye, she tenses somewhat, though her own voice stays even.]

Poor cat, it looks hungry.

[Ooo a stray cat! An unhappy stray cat. Lacie chuckles. Inexperienced people handling animals tends to be fairly amusing and this is no different.]

Holding a cat like that may result in it giving you fond, if painful mementos all over your body.

[Well, it's not like you have to twist her arm that hard.]

[If there's anyone here who can make Katniss soften up about something like this, it's Rue. She'll drop a lot of the exasperation factor, and instead take on a quieter, more gentle tone.

Even if this yowling cat is still about to get on her last nerve.]

Aww, poor cat. If no one else wants it, my sister might like it. ( a small laugh ) She always kept a lot of cats around at home.

Must be why he's being so loud. What will you do if nobody claims him?
