[ Gwen is sewing.

There is so much time to fill these days that she takes these projects, uses them to pass her hours and keep her mind occupied with simple things rather than her worries and lord knows she has plenty.

In her lap, a dress is laid, more of a gown of silks in shades of royal blue and lighter blue. It is an impressive piece, one she is working on for many weeks on from the look of her fingers, she had poked herself with the needle more than once.

Still she works, sewing what looks like a golden embodiment on the edges.

Beside her is a cup of tea and actually, it's not the gown she wants to talk about. ]

It's rather brilliant.

[ she takes the cup, sips her tea. ]

Are they really tea-leaves? I have never heard of any leaves that can make something so wonderful. In Camelot we only have water and if you're fortunate you have milk.

[ and ale and mead and wine, but Gwen never tried those. ]

N-not that I mind the milk and the water. Or Camelot, really, I miss it quite often but -

[ she's doing it again isn't she? the babbling. She stops, smiles. ]

It is rather brilliant. Where can one find those...tea leaves? Where do they grow?

[He blinks in surprise, and then shakes his head. Really, he's quite flattered.]

I'm hardly a Lord. Just a soldier. A farmer, in a past life. My family was of common birth.

[And a slight bow of his head.]

[ she had quickly learned it is better to compliment everyone than insult an actual lord or lady. She inclines her head. ]

It is a pleasure, Thassarian. I am Guinevere of Camelot, but please call me Gwen. All of my friends do.

[Oh my gosh Gwen you are like warming the cold little cockles of his heart here.

He smiles, as warmly as he can manage.]

Very well, Gwen. It is an honor to meet you.

Have you been here long?

Not very long, but long enough. I'm not complaining, of course. The goal is very important. But I do miss Camelot, everything seemed more simple there than it is here.

[ namely Morgana, Arthur, whatever it is that happened and she had missed. ]

Indeed. I feel much the same, though I've only been here a very short while. There are certain upsides, however, and I cannot fault those. I suppose we must take the good with the unfavorable.

[Mostly, that his brother-in-arms is here, and is safe enough for now.]

I take it this sort of technology is not common in your homeland?

Not at all. Camelot is - it is wonderful but I will miss parts of these things. The fridge and the stove and oh the laundry machine.

[ Gwen, the things you become starry eyed over. ]

I'm certain the engineers of my home could dream up such things, but I had never seen them until now. It's...taking a bit of getting used to.

[He chuckles.]

[ she nods, scrunches her nose in a sort of 'tell me about me' expression. ]

I've burned my stews at least a dozen on these ovens.

[He laughs. It's a strangely hollow sound, but he means it.]

I suppose it's fortunate that I don't have much need to use many of these things. This communication device was difficult enough to learn how to use, at first.

It's still terribly confusing to me. I don't quite know how to switch between the different....options.

I fear I would be in much the same predicament.

Do you have knights and the like where you're from, Gwen?

Yes, we do. The King has, to be exact. The Knights of Camelot, they are all led by Arthur - Prince Arthur.

[It stirs within him a memory of his life before, of time spent in service of crown and country. Things were so simple- he had to much to believe in.]

I see. I hope your knights are the noble sort. I'm one, in a sense.

You're a knight? Then you are Sir Thassarian.

[ and this is what she'll call him from this moment on, no changing it. ]

The knights of Camelot are all very noble and brave. They're good men, they do their best to protect the kingdom and its people.

[Sir Thassarian. He smiles, as warmly as he can.]

Ours are...

[How should he explain it? He wasn't one to lie. His kind, they lived outside the plain morality of many of the living, but there was truth.]

We fight for what we believe to be right, and just. We fight for our homes, for our countries. Most of all, we fight for ourselves. To be allowed to be ourselves.

Not everyone might agree with our methods, but we try to do what is right.

[ The words ring familiar, as if she had heard them before when suddenly she remembers that she did, and from who. ]

I have a friend who would say the same, for her battles and those of her -

[ how does she even say it ]

Her kind. When I knew her, she always tried to fight for what's right.

We try.

[He nods, smiling slightly.]

I fight for my king, though he's not the king I pledged my sword to, in life. Still, I have little if I don't have my loyalty, and there's nothing greater for me than to serve my king.

Camelot's knights are thee same. They're loyal to king Uther and to his son Arthur and to each other. I find them all to be very admirable. One of them I knew from a very young age, my mother was a maidservant of his mother.

Uther! There was an Uther in my world, as well.

[He smiles, a bit wider than before, a true smile.]

He was a good man- a paladin. The first of his order. My father fought alongside him during the Second War. "The Lightbringer", they called him. They and others fought the Horde, pushed them back from our doorstep. After the war, he went south, and cared for the sick and injured.

I had no talent for the Light like he did, but I always greatly admired him.

King Uther saved Camelot as well, so I've heard, from many enemies.

[ yet some would say he created other enemies in his deeds and Gwen will not disagree. ]

Why did they call him 'Lightbringer?'

It was a title given to him by...another paladin. Turalyon, I believe, his brother in arms. They both served under Anduin Lothar, the Supreme Commander of the Alliance.

Our current prince, Anduin Wrynn, shares his name. He is here.

Your prince, here?

[ she smiles. ]

The city seems to like royalty.

My prince?

[He thinks about that for a moment.]

I suppose. In truth, Prince Wrynn and I are of different kingdoms. His father is the man I currently pledge my loyalty to.

My prince, Prince Menethil, died long ago. My home was destroyed shortly afterward.

-- I am sorry. I knew one man who once lost his home. He was one of most noble men I ever met.

I'm afraid I'm not nearly as noble. I'm just a soldier.
