[ Video/Action ] Midafternoon Snoozies

Pu-pupun! Pun! PUuun!

[ This is the sound of a certain celestial spirit who, in his attempt to wake Lucy, managed to turn on her communicator. For Lucy's part, she appears to have fallen asleep at her desk. Not a very good position for her back, really, but when hey, she was tired and didn't exactly PLAN on falling asleep there.

There's a smile on her face as she sleeps, and when Plue shoved at her arm to try and wake her again, she shifted, that arm absently batting at him - accidentally knocking him and several of her books off of the desk. Lucy murmurs something in her sleep, oblivious to Plue's cries of distress as the poor spirit was effectively half buried under the books. ]

P-PUWAH!! Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!

[ Plue sure would appreciate it if someone was nice enough to wake Lucy up so she could free him from the pile of literary doom.

...

Or you can be really evil and tell her she was drooling, snoring, or saying things in her sleep after she wakes up. :3 ]

[This is what happens when he doesn't check up on her at least once a day. For a moment Natsu is tempted to just call her back and wake her but she does looks peaceful and he can't find it in himself to go through with that. So instead there he is clambering up through her window (AGAIN).]

Seriously.

[An amused sigh before hopping in. Oh hey Plue he can hear you, buddy. Help's on the way!]

[ Hey when the muse takes you you can't stop for anything! And apparently it took Lucy for quite a ride, keeping her up late until she fell asleep. She made a muffled 'mprh' noise slightly when Natsu climbed in her window - AGAIN, but Plue was delighted. Savior! ]

Pu-pupuuun! [ Technically he could have just gone back to the spirit world, but he didn't want to leave until he knew Lucy would be okay. She was going to be sore sleeping in the chair like that. She needed a more comfortable chair ~~like her mun's.~~ ]

There you are little guy.

[Said in a hushed whisper before shoving the books off of poor Plue.]

Did you stay to watch over Lucy huh? Good job, little guy. She's a handful ain't she?

[Not that he's complaining. No he's not complaining at all. It's just another part of Lucy that makes it fun to be around her.]

[ Freeeedoooom! Plue straightens now that the books were no longer threatening to squish him, but he nods happily at Natsu, nodding at both questions. ]

Puupuun!~!

[ Yep yep. She is quite a handful, you understand what they go through! OF course you would, you're with her most of all. He pauses when Lucy shifts on the chair, giggling quietly in her sleep. ... weird even when sleeping, that's our Lucy. But Plue covers his mouth with a bitty paw. Aw. ]

Glad to see I got here in time.

[At the giggle he turns to look at Lucy and there is a certain flicker in his eyes watching her so peacefully asleep. Even if it is most likely incredibly uncomfortable.]

Weirdo couldn't even make it to bed. She tries too hard sometimes.

[And he likes that about her.]

Think she'll wake up if we move her?

[ Plue is glad too! He's just gonna hug your leg Natsu. Ogawd thank you for saving him from a fate worse than death! At the question, he looks up, pensive and finally shakes his head, waving his paws. If Lucy hadn't woken up yet, he didn't think she was going to. She was pretty knocked out.

Of course, Plue can't move her, but what he CAN do is climb up onto her bed, scampering over to her pillow to start pulling the blankets down. ]

Pupupun~!

[ He wasn't able to keep it warm for her ;o; but she didn't look particularly cold either. You should be safe to move her! ]

[And he gets a reassuring pat on his tiny round head. He was definitely Lucy's cutest spirit even if he did tease her about it when he was first summoned.]

Good idea. You get the bed ready and I'll handle her.

[Which involves slowly taking the pen from her hand then putting her hands in her lap before turning the chair around so he can scoop her up.]

Puun, puu~!

[ Plue beams at the pat, his tiny tail wagging, and he waves his hand from head to air in an 'Aye Sir' fashion that he /clearly/ picked up from Happy. Watching Natsu tend to Lucy for a moment, the celestial spirit then turned to push the blankets the rest of the way down so it'll be easier for Natsu to tuck Lucy in bed. Then he bounds over to the pillows and tugs on them so they'll be nice and fluffy. ]

[ As for Lucy, she still doesn't rouse as Natsu moved her about. Though once she was scooped up, she shifted, suddenly finding this new warmth way more cozy, snuggling against it with a soft sigh. ]

Natsu...

{ OHGOD SHE's AWAKE, SHE's AWAKE AND SHE's GOING TO KILL Y- oh wait, no, she's just talking in her sleep. ]

[Always good to have a reliable partner. And he can definitely see the Happy undertones behind that gesture. For a moment it makes him miss if dear friend but he has more pressing matters. Such as putting Lucy to bed.]

[An intent that goes flying out the window when Lucy speaks her name so softly. He freezes in place expecting to hear her scream next but after a few moments he looks down and quickly notes she is still sleeping and...she was clinging wasn't she? Honestly she almost scared Natsu out of his own skin. Though now it was going to be even more tricky to set her down]

Weirdo. How did you know it was me?

[No he's not connecting the whole warmth thing but there it is again, that fond smile that shows more of his own feelings on the matter than he will ever admit any time soon.]

[With that brief scare behind them, Natsu carries Lucy to bed and considers his options on how to set her down without waking the girl.]

[ Oops, she didn't mean to scare her friend. Though if she'd woken up she would have freaked out enough to last a lifetime. And ... later realized she kinda liked it. Sending so many mixed signals, Lucy, GOSH. She relaxes in his arms, a soft, content smile on her lips. ]

[ Plue, considering Natsu's predicament, eyes the bed for a second, and then hops a little on the pillow, waving his arms to get the Dragon Slayer's attention. He has an idea! And then he extends his paws towards the mattress, figuring that once Natsu put Lucy down, she would shift into a proper sleeping position, and Natsu would be able to pull free. Brilliant, Right? ]

[Dammit that smile is making it real hard to remember he's supposed to put her down. Thankfully Plue saves the day with his idea. He gets the general gist of it and it makes sense. Which is why it probably won't work. Still he nods to the celestial spirit and he moves closer before bending over to lower Lucy to the bed. So far so good~]

[ It's simple, and logical... and yep, it totally doesn't work. Well it -KINDA- works. Plue moves out of the way, once Lucy is placed on the bed, but rather than curl up on the bed and loosen her arms unconsciously she... does the opposite. Another sigh passes between her lips, and she pulls Natsu closer, right up against her body. Like he's a life size dragonplush or something, but she doesn't seem inclined to want to let go. Maybe she's dreaming about hanging onto something for dear life. ]

Mmm........

[ Must be pretty awkward for you right now, huh? Plue rubs the back of his head, wondering where his clever plan went wrong! ]

[It's never easy is it? Natsu quickly discovers that Lucy has surprising strength in her sleep. Or maybe his reluctance to really force his way out of the hold has some part to play in it.]

[But now he's stuck, really close and her scent is invading his senses from every possible angle. She's warm, soft and and well she's Lucy! His Lucy. Someone very precious to him. And as for him, well he's stuck and he's questioning if he really wants to escape or not. I mean just looking at her peaceful expression puts his intent in question.]

[ Never. But you don't like 'easy' anyway right? Always challenges! Plue was still at a loss, glancing awkwardly between the two. It doesn't help that the more comfortable she was getting the more she seemed to feel that the person in her arms just wasn't close enough - come closer, kay. Although in the midst of this, her eyebrows twitch slightly, her eyes half opening in that fuzzy, not quite awake state.

Staring straight up at Natsu. ]

[ ... she's still dreaming right? Because the last thing she remembered was ...well she wasn't in bed, that was for certain. And he -had- been in her dream, though why she had dreamed about him helping move her furniture she wasn't sure. ... gosh, his hair was as soft as it was when she was awake too! ]

[C-Closer? Bu...oh look he was leaning closer. Up until the moment Lucy's eyes opened a bit. Which was when he froze completely as if expecting even the slightest twitch in his body to break the illusion and cause her to scream at the top of her lungs.]

[...but boy did she have nice eyes...wait now really wasn't the time for that!]

[ Gosh, he was pretty close wasn't he? But what was the funniest part was the look on his face- surprising he hasn't said anything yet to make her dream end, but that was perfectly fine with her. It felt incredibly real - is this what they call a lucid dream? If she didn't know better she'd say he was actually -in- her room leaning over her. With her arms around him. That would be horribly embarrassing and scream worthy all right. What a silly thought.

She smiled, absently. So clueless, and fierce, that Natsu. Her most important person, her very best friend. She'd never taken the time to really -admire- his looks before- she always took it for granted, honestly. But ever since they kissed she admitted, she kinda snuck glances more. BUT he's her best friend, and one doesn't kiss their best friends. Even though she wanted to. A lot. Like now. ]

[She was pretty darn close to. Though again he would have to ask himself later why he didn't make the first step to end this little moment if it could be called that yet. If he really didn't have a crush he should have been cracking a joke about her snoring or poor Plue's plight. Yet there he was, completely locked in the gaze of those brown eyes.]

[That smile. THAT smile was just NOT fair. So warm and inviting. He leaned a little closer as if to give Lucy a real good look at what she wanted to see. Sure. That was all. Totally not because he kind of was doing the same thing only getting a bit more affected since he was fully awake and aware this wasn't a dream.]

[ H-hey! She wasn't snoring, she was talking in her sleep! Totally different.. t..though he probably shouldn't bring up that part either considering she'd been dreaming about -him- and she'd only get flustered. When he leaned closer, her eyes drifted a little lower to his lips, then back up to his face. She absently ran her tongue over her lower lip, her mouth feeling dry. Wait - there was something really weird about this dream. She couldn't quite put her finger on it though.

... then again, any dream that let her see Natsu up close and personal like this was a good one, as far as she was concerned. ]

P--pun...?

[ Oh Plue. Still here are you? Because the little spirit thinks it's best to ...well... say something. Whether or not it's enough is another matter, though Lucy's gaze shifts sleepily in the spirit's attention. Huh. Plue's... in her dream now? Was he trying to wake her up? Well nuts to you, she doesn't wanna wake up. She looked back towards Natsu, slowly, as if taking note in how much closer he was now. No, she didn't want to wake up. Besides, Natsu was so close she could just -- she could -- ]

[Oh he knows that best of all. If she'd been the type to snore he wouldn't be able to sleep so comfortably in her bed with her every now and again. With his hearing, Snores would be worse than for any average person.]

[He could see her eyes wandering, exploring his features and for some reason, the fact that she was looking at him like that, it sparked a bit of pride and happiness inside. But it was Plue that snapped him back to his sense just as his lips had started to lower towards Lucy as if pulled by some magnetic and invisible force. But stopping was all he could do, the words lodged in his throat not knowing how to get out of this wiithout Lucy being angry with him.]

[ Almost worse than the smacks Lucy would give him for teasing her about snoring, if she snored. Still fuzzy brained, Lucy's sleepy self tried to make sense of the situation, sluggish. When he started to lower, she shifted just slightly, almost as if in anticipation - but when Natsu stopped, there was a flicker of disappointment in her eyes. Wait - disappointment? That's silly, why... actually a better question would be why she hadn't let go of Natsu yet.... she kinda didn't want to. ]

[ And apparently Natsu's mute ailment was catching because her brain wasn't cooperating quickly enough to react the way she should. All she could think about was how close he was - how close his lips were. It was tempting to pull him closer but that totally isn't the right response to react to this situation! ...wait, is it? ...she needed to snap out of this dream-fuzz. ]

[Seriously. Sometimes her punches could rival Erza's and that's saying a lot. No need to make sense of the situation though. Just let it all drift back into dreamland. Though Natsu not moving probably wouldn't help that. ]

[Surprisingly enough his voice doesn't come out shaky or anything. Not even as he suddenly rests his forehead against hers lightly conveying some of that comforting natural warmth Natsu has.]

Sleep.

[And why they hell was he giving her that warm smile of his with his eyes closed. Maybe because if he looked in those sleep filled orbs he would be trapped in place once again.]

[ There are worse places to be trapped. :3 But aside from that: Since when was "sleep" part of Dragon Slayer magic? The situation was confusing and no, him not moving wasn't helping the matter. Although when he finally did move, it was a little startling. But the familiar gesture, almost intimately so, was comforting in its own way. She almost missed the word spoken, when in the past few minutes it'd been total silence, save for their breathing. And that smile - god, that smile he was giving her. Was it real or a dream? She wasn't even sure - Natsu wouldn't be that calm normally right? Not in this kind of situation. Hell, SHE wouldn't be reacting this calmly if it was real. Or ... not so much calm actually, as too shellshocked to move. ]

[ Nonetheless, she sighs softly, a smile on her lips as she let her tired eyes close again, her arms shifting to tighten briefly, almost in a hug, then relaxing again, loose enough that if Natsu's careful he -might- yet escape with his skin intact. ... Lucy would probably wake with a start after having a 'dream' like that, before long. Even Plue looked relieved, because Spirits know the way that girl would have (over)reacted otherwise. Women are silly, huh? ]

[Maybe he was growing up to the situation faster than she was. Or maybe just not thinking about it helped. He only did what felt natural and right. And it worked, to his relief. Natsu watched her slowly sink back to slumber. For a moment he was worried she would put him in a vice grip like that but that worry didn't last long as her arms slowly slackened. She was such a weirdo. But she was his weirdo...okay now the weirdo thoughts were invading so he would best make his exit now before he wouldn't leave at all.]

[Slowly he disentangled from Lucy's arms and laid them down atop her chest softly, lingering there for a moment and warming the two stacked hands as if to leave a bit of warmth to last until she'd next wake.]

[He turned his head over to Plue who if he could speak, would have so much blackmail material he could make both Natsu and Lucy his loyal slaves.]

You gonna stay with her for the night?

[ A little from column A and a little from column B, more than likely. Also he had Erza to smack him with a clue by four, whereas Lucy was clinging to her denial. Even though that grip was getting weaker by the day. Also, she overthought things Waaaaaaaaaaay too much, and that worked against her. ]

[ Plue watched Natsu carefully, all but holding his breath - or seeming to - and wiped a paw across his brow when Natsu freed himself successfully. BOY WAIT TILL HE TELLS VIRGO-- no wait, that would be horrible. Virgo would enjoy teasing Lucy way too much. ~~Which of course is all the more reason to do it.~~ ]

[ At Natsu's question, the little spirit saluted him again, nodding firmly. ]

Pupuun! [ He then made an 'oops' gesture, glancing to Lucy, but all she did was shift a little in her sleep with a quiet chuckle, curling her hands a little. Good dreams one supposes. ]

[It was funny really. He was apparently the densest when it came to these things so naturally he had all the support to deal with it. And yet he also adapted to it the fastest out of the two of them. From bolting out the window in confusion to actually being calm while she held him close and looked so beyond alluring. Gildarts would either be proud or hit him for not taking advantage. Maybe a mix of both.]

Shhhhh

[Quickly holds his finger to his lips at Plue's answer and he looks over to Lucy. Who barely seems to stir. Wow he really did knock her out with that one word didn't he? Well he exhaled again in relief and walked over to Plue to pet the top of the spirit's head]

Okay. You watch over her for me. Make sure she doesn't fall out of bed or kick her blankets off or anything like that.

[He knows her sleeping habits better than she would probably like. Still with that he straightens up and heads over to the window. Might as well leave through the way he came in.]
