[For a while there's nothing but the loud and slightly obnoxious sound of chewing. Whoever this is doesn't have any goddamn table manners, Jesus.

But eventually a girl's voice pipes up. The voice is young, and a little gruff, but she doesn't sound livid or even particularly upset about her sudden relocation. Either she's had time to adjust or there's something else going on.]

Oi. Whoever's listening, does anyone understand this? [Crunch crunch crunch.] I got a few questions.

Thanks. [Without thinking about it, she reaches up to touch her hair.] Just Kyouko's fine, none of that "miss" stuff. Are there other [How to put this.] computers like you here?

Yes! There are. My friend Mister Equius builds some. But-- [ Nik lowers his voice, and looks around furtively. ] --but I do not think they are as smart as I am! But that is okay because I am very smart!

That so? Do you take care of yourself on your own? Or does this Equius guy keep an eye on you? [Her tone is not gentle, per se. But she doesn't sound as if she's trying to be rude, at least.]

[thleepy]

[ Nik folds his arms and huffs. ] I take care of myself! I'm supposed to. I'm very good at it. I'm the best at taking care of myself.

Heh. If you say so. How old are you?

[thleepy]

I'm four! Almost five! How old are you, miss?

[invocation]

[A pause. She has to think about that. How long had it been since she'd left Mami...a year? Maybe more. And how old had she been then? It seemed like forever ago.]

Fourteen. [She settles on this, and then adds:] Almost fifteen.

Wow! Then you're ten years older than me! [ Nik is SUPER EXCITED about this fact. ] ...Is being older scary?

[The excitement makes Kyouko remember another child, from what seemed like a lifetime ago. She's quiet, for a little while, and then answers, honestly:] Sometimes. But it's not so bad.

[thleepy]

Hmm. [ Nik thinks about that answer, then shakes his head. ] I think it is scary... but I am glad you are doing okay! Keep doing okay, o... kay? [ UH. HM. What's the best way to end that sentiment? Oh, right. THUMBS UP!! ]

[Eyebrow raise. What an odd...kid. Computer. Whatever. But he's cute! She thinks.]
