Good afternoon, fellow Transports! [Coby stood in front of his tablet and saluted, the back of his hand facing his forehead rather than saluting in a flat, horizontal fashion. This was the kind of salute that his navy practiced. For once, he was wearing his full attire--his long sleeved collared shirt, his medals and his mantle. Clearly, Coby felt a need to dress at the nines on a Friday afternoon. His stern expression maintained itself with practiced ease.]

As some of you may be aware, my name is Coby and I'm a Marine from a world you may not have heard of. I'm at the rank of 'Captain', which usually exempts me from a number of periodic physical, psychological and mental tests, though as an officer capable of running one or more vessels, I'm still very much responsible for practicing good behavior! [Coby kept his back straight, arms behind himself and his legs perfectly spaced apart to look one hundred percent the part of an officer.]

I have missed a formal evaluation and as a result, I find it imperative to conduct it in the form of a survey to those who have encountered me and interacted with me on a social and work-related basis. Now, for the survey! Ahead of time, I must thank my employer for helping me program this into my post.

Attached to this video post is a document which you may fill out and send back to me. At the bottom, there will be an interactive field in which you can sign your name with your finger if you so desire; however, you're absolutely free to take this survey anonymously. The survey itself will consist of a few basic questions which will be answering numerically from 1 to 10, ten being your highest approval and one being your lowest! I maintain a steady regiment of exercise after I work in the mornings. From time to time, I'll personally assist in training others in the halls and at night, I go to the library to study on this world's history.

[In other words, nothing.]

You don't say. I could use some brushing up with a trainer. Usually I go in with Priad, but it'd be nice to practice with some who's... a little more my size.

[And not an eight-foot-tall robot.]

Priad? [He remembered hearing the name, but it didn't stick. Funny how he didn't remember the eight foot tall robot all that great--though, it was because he heard the guy's title second-hand.]

Ah, well... I certainly don't mind. Did you have anything specific you wanted to work on?

I don't have anything specific in mind. It's just that I haven't been training as much as I should.

[Nope, just been riding her bike... but that is her weapon, so it sort of counts, right?]

[A lack of specifics? Suggesting that he can be of help?]

I see... [So, he reached for his notepad...]

Then, perhaps I could arrange a training regiment for you! [There were little glistens of light in his eyes. Someone was a bit too excited to write up a calendar.]

Oh! Uh, yeah, that works! Only if you have time...

[Seriously was not expecting that. But why not!!?]

[So, Coby began writing in his notepad, looking all too pleased with the situation.]

So! The equipment in the training room is scarce and often busy. So, I suppose hand and feet exercises would be best! We can start with push-ups and pull-ups, crunches, lunges, wall-pushes, hand-weights... [Coby maintained a patient stream of thought, naming off exercises as if Asami would try to escape mid-sentence.]

[Oh wow this has to be a general list. She nods along, trying to signify to him that she understands.]

Okay—

Oh!—

Actually—

Hmm.

[Nope, she isn't going to get a word in, so Asami remains quiet for the remainder of the list. When he does seem finished, she carefully speaks again.]

... Sounds good. I'm actually on a camping trip right now; should we start when I get back?

[Coby, looking every part excited and no part remorseful about smashing his way into a tirade of work-out instructions, beamed with joy. Having someone rely on him for advice was something that genuinely made him happy.]

Of course! Where have you gone so far?

Well, I'm just in the Outlands now. We found a barn to hole up in, and one of our guys cleaned up a lake so that we can use it.

[She pauses, wondering if he's really that interested.]

Orrrr were you talking mission-wise?

I suppose 'both' would be a good answer! I haven't ventured outside of the city as I've heard there are almost no people outside of it, so I've tried to maintain a presence in the Training Hall above all else.

I admit I'm very curious about the outside, however--if you're willing to share.

Well, there really isn't a whole lot to share... I mean, this city actually continues for miles and miles. It's just that the vast majority of it has been abandoned, so when you exit the main part, you see a lot of empty buildings. It's sad, but fascinating in its own right I guess. You'll get to the rural areas eventually, and you'll just have to keep an eye out for the wildlife. Other than that it's pretty tame.

Oh, and don't drink the water.

[Coby nodded slowly. He knew most of those things, but he supposed he hadn't gone out far enough. Though he said he hadn't ventured outside of the city, he underestimated what could be considered the city limits. Jumping over the guards hadn't proven to provide a feasible barrier in his judgment.

He paused, realizing something--]

Wait, what's wrong with the wildlife? I didn't notice anything wrong with the animals.

I mean, just like with anything that isn't domesticated, you just want to be careful that you don't make any of them mad. We sort of got attacked by a bear.

Attacked? [As worldly as Coby was, he never saw a bear in his life until the creatures were actually in no way dangerous to him.]

Why would you get attacked by a bear, though? Aren't they docile?

[Asami raises an eyebrow.] In your world, maybe. They tend to be pretty territorial here.

I should spend more time reading on the wildlife, then! I wasn't aware any of that would have been terribly different.

Is wildlife pretty tame where you're from?

Oh, no. If anything, I consider this place to be much less dangerous, actually.

They're all so... small, I think.
