001 [ video ]

[When the video clicks on, it's nicely arranged so that Seles is visible sitting in a chair in her room and her hat doesn't take up too much of the screen. Her hands are folded formally in her lap off screen and she gets right to the point.]

I'm interested in training... So for those of you who happen to be experienced in using swords, I'd like to request that you share your routines with me. I could make my own, of course, but I've heard it's more educational to encompass knowledge from a large variety of people.

And could Cloud respond to me as soon as possible? It's... regarding the same thing!

...Thank you. [Click!]

[He nods slightly at her description - it's easy enough to make sense of, at least.]

So your preference is using other abilities to strike from afar, and using your sword as a secondary means of attack? Or is that your strategy simply because you lack experience in the latter, and use what's more familiar to you?

Fair enough.

I favor a heavier blade myself, so that shouldn't be a problem, but I don't have a great deal of experience related to styles that use shields. My sword is my primary weapon, but I can use artes to strike from afar if I need to.

Elliot favors a lighter, quicker blade, and has no abilities beyond that.

[Or at least if he did, he wasn't sharing them. Being a spoiled brat does not count.]

It would probably be best to focus on the sword, if only so Elliot doesn't complain about how unfair magic is.

[He's laughing a bit inside at that - only Elliot Nightray would throw a fit over something so small in comparison.]

Learning to combine the two is useful, but it can wait.
