You probably aren't keen on the idea of getting comfortable here, but I think that in the event Clementine does show up, you should know your way around. And don't be afraid to ask for help in the meantime, because many of us here are willing to show you the ropes.

[He'd heard of children here; teenagers shouldn't surprise him, though it still upsets him a little that the Initiative would choose to use them.

In turn, Lee switches to the video feed as well.]

[ And also she thinks he's so cool for stepping up and taking care of a little girl who needed his help like a total man. She won't say it, just kind of smile. It's not like she has father issues or anything. ]

Any chance this place has, uh. Food?

[The kindness of strangers have been hit and miss for Lee; Asami seems sincere enough and he has a good feeling about her.]

Oh, yeah. We have a marketplace here not far from the apartments if you need to buy groceries, and if you take a look around you'll happen across a couple of small restaurants. You should've been equipped with marques to be able to pay for it.

I suppose it can't be too bad if people still have something to eat.

That's true. And the roof over our heads isn't so shabby, either. Walking in and out of the apartments is like night and day.

The situation's not good where I'm from.

[Asami has been helpful and kind. He sees no reason to not be sincere with her.]

About three months ago, things went to hell. Suddenly, the dead were rising up and started to eat on the living. I don't mean to spook you, but things have been tough for everyone back there. Supplies are hard to come by and the living situation's not easy.

... I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Are the spirits of the dead committing harm on the physical realm?

I don't think there's any spirit in them, Asami. They're just mindless corpses wandering around and eating people.

You're kidding, that sounds so terrible... No wonder you're so worried about that girl.

It hasn't been easy. But Clem isn't by herself. So even if... time moves forward, she has people looking out for her. All I can do is hope she'll be okay until I see her again.
