I don't suppose anyone remembers, but back in December I came across an old synagogue here. I've spoken to the citizens here who use it for shelter every now and then and they also thought it would be a good idea to help clean and fix it up. I'm no contractor and I can't offer anything in return unfortunately... I've only noticed a lot of people asking if there's something to do around here.

If you're interested, I figured helping out the people here would be one small step forward. Someone's got to eventually help with some of these buildings, hm? I also imagine there's got to be a few people who know a thing or two about repairing interiors. I noticed there was talk of building a greenhouse a few days ago.

[ A lengthy pause. ]

And a question since most on the network apparently enjoy them: do you think there's such thing as too much information? [ It's been on her mind for a couple of weeks now. ]

( She holds up her hands. )

I'm better at the moral support side of that stuff, personally. As for the other question, I'd love to say no, buuuuut... probably. Some things you don't really need to know, even if you think you want to.

[ Another pause. Way to hit right close to home in Kate's heart, Collette. ]

( She shrugs her shoulders; some things weren't meant to be. )

So I hear! I'm no good at following that advice, personally, and even the things I haven't liked, I've learned to live with. I like knowing more.

( What she chooses to ignore after that fact is her own business and prerogative. )

What happened? [ She doesn't want to do a half-assed job here.

She lets out a soft laugh, then. ] Not much can bother you?

He left. The Plan B wasn't as into what he was doing, so it fell apart.

( Matter of fact; delivered with a smile in tone. Kate's statement makes her laugh. )

As little as I can stand!

( There's an inherent joke and a hint to the truth behind how Collette handles the world. )

That's unfortunate.

A buildin' project, hm? I bet the locals'd like that.

Apparently so. Not all of them have the time or energy to work full time jobs and then start physical work right after.

For us. For the Exiles, too, but we -- and the Initiative -- are the reason for them leaving, so it's different! Besides, they don't remember.

( She pauses. )

Mostly we don't, either, if we go back and come here again. Funny how that works!

How much work needs to be done on the synagogue?

It would be nice if we were on better terms. [ Good in the long run, of course.

A pause. ] How are you feeling? [ Yeah, she's still a bit concerned after wall throwing. ]

Could be it's both.

Not at all?

[ A beat. ]

Quite a lot. Thee windows are busted so there's a constant draft, the floors, the ceiling needs to be retouched.

[gevurah]

At least we have other Transports. For now. [ So they're not... completely alone and forgotten. ]

No. It's always best to know as much as possible about [your enemies] those around you.

I could help. I'm no handyman either, but I could be useful.

[ Spoken like a true paranoid. Kate hoards information herself, but sometimes the personal information gets to be... a bit much. ]

You're not a fan of surprises?

That's fine. Even people who can move things and clean can help. Lots of dirt and mud tracked in from the rain.

Not in the least.

I'd prefer a cleaner work environment, but it'll get there, I'm sure.

Isn't that the greatest? There's so many amazing, cool people I've met since showing up on that Transport pad... I wouldn't trade it for all the permanence in the world!
