[Nill says it's fine, but Lisbeth thinks it isn't. She's embarrassed herself and yet again, she's ruined something good. But for the time being, she'll push past it to continue conversation.]

[She shakes her head, and glances around the hall. She doesn't want to have a conversation like this where people can see.]

Can I come in?

[ action ]

[She nods and moves aside to let Nill walk in.]

[She steps inside, but otherwise lingers near the door, unsure of what else to really do with herself.]

I've been here for a month.

[She closes the door behind her and locks it.]

You can sit down if you want.

[She gestures to the kitchen table before she sits down here as well.]

[Nill toes her shoes off (just a pair of flats) near the entrance and goes over to take a seat opposite Lisbeth at the table, setting her hands in her lap.]

No. Have you?

[Lisbeth mirrors Nill's posture, though her shoulders are more slumped. She shrugs once.]

It's only been two days. Jesse says it's not as bad as Siren's.

[reassures]

[Out of sight, Nill grips at her hands, nails digging into her palm. Otherwise it only shows in the slight tensing of her shoulders.]

Jesse is being stupid.

[Nill's reaction surprises her. Lisbeth doesn't show surprise outwardly, but her brows do furrow slightly.]

Why?

[reassures]

Maybe you should ask him that.

[Jesse has one chance. He has one chance, and if he doesn't take it, it's gone.]

[nill's tone was really confusing her. all three of them weren't exactly the best of friends in canada, but nill wasn't cold or condescending towards jesse in the least.]

[if it was about the meth thing, she'd really have a talk with him. that was honestly the only thing that crossed her mind that nill could've been talking about.]

Do you want anything to drink?

[reassures]

[Nill has never showed anything but kindness and patience towards Jesse until now. It must be a big change for Lisbeth, who has only ever seen good in their relationship.

She's not going to explain, though. Instead she nods.]

[She almost hopes for alcohol, but she's already done that once this week, so she won't ask for it.]

[she nods and gets up from her seat. she goes to the fridge and opens it. lisbeth had yet to find cigarettes, what was she supposed to find in lieu of her soda addiction? ugh, this and no internet? she wasn't sure if she could last long here.

so lisbeth grabs two glasses and fills them with water. she brings them back to the table.]

Sorry, I'm still trying to settle in.

[reassures]

[She does well to hide the small flicker of disappointment the water causes. Instead she picks up the glass, and takes a careful sip, before setting it down again.]
