02 | ARTICLE
[ The following article flashes across all your devices this not-so-lovely morning; anyone who frequents the streets around Rita's favourite cafe might even notice several paper copies floating around despite the relative lack of breeze.
It is titled at the top, in big, bold letters:
and then there is a (smaller) subtitle saying:
The city of Exsilium is no stranger to “Transports”, those who have been brought across time and space to fight in the so-called “Initiative”'s harebrained excuse for a war effort. Although they employ a wide variety of people in their schemes, are some of their new recruits more foe than friend? Rita Skeeter reports on some incredibly disturbing findings that must be brought to light in these troubled times.
When one pictures the typical teenager, they don't imagine a cold-blooded killer. Yet several of the children who are brought here show signs of severe mental disturbance, with clear indications that they may yet soon kill again. If one has been to the training halls lately, they may find Katniss Everdeen, a girl in her late teens who spends far more than the mandated time practising with her bow and arrow. 'Lovely,' you might think to yourself, 'a young, but dedicated, future soldier!' However, don't let her cherubic face deceive you. Behind the long lashes and plump cheeks is a deranged young woman who has been known to mutter under her breath about her longing for revenge. 'I don't care who gets in my way,' Miss Everdeen has been heard saying moments before savagely piercing the heart of a training mannequin.
As mentioned previously, this is hardly an isolated concern, with recent arrival Ellie Linton sharing an alarming amount of these tendencies with Miss Everdeen. Miss Linton has been known to carry a 'gun' around, and although she possess little-to-no magical abilities, she openly brags about having blown up bridges in her own world. I can relay with full confidence that it is terrifying to witness the delighted glint in Miss Linton's eye as she brazenly admits to her reckless behaviour. Perhaps this would not be so troubling if she didn't show a high likelihood of reoffending, publicly threatening to shoot her roommate for merely looking at her food. In addition to everything else, this young woman also has a preoccupation with death that borders on the unnatural, doing very little to detract from her emotionally unstable personality.
Speaking of all things unnatural, there are signs of a dangerous cult starting to surface in our city. A group of magic-users who all bear the same brand, a dying phoenix, on their bodies have vandalized their surrounds with their mark during a recent mandatory mission. Yet their actions should not be overlooked as simple acts of graffiti. The ring leader of this little group, colloquially known as the 'Legendary Dragon Gunslinger' and his dashing young blonde female companion have also been spotted committing random acts of violence upon unsuspecting Muggles. No matter what manner of unhinged love story is brewing under the surface, this an action that cannot be overlooked nor condoned by the magical community. Most recently, this cult has been getting more involved in the affairs of vampires – is this a sign that our city might soon be confronted with another uprising of the undead?
From these mere handful of observations, it is obvious that this current system of arrivals is plagued with more problems than can possibly be counted. There is a question that must be asked, for the good of us all: is it not for the best to put a stop to these people before these issues get out of hand? My recommendation would be that they, and anyone else who might be harbouring such delusional fantasies, be locked up safely so that they no longer pose a threat to themselves and others.

Conclusive proof the Initiative has no idea what they're doing. ]

[ Reaction - Video 1/2 ]
And skimming the article the rest of the way, because AT LEAST you got the 'dashing blond female companion' part right, Rita, all thoughts stop -dead- at the next sentence: No matter what manner of unhinged love story...
... what...
love
story
what
what??
Forget the misunderstanding about Fairy Tail's nature.
Forget the misunderstanding about attacking innocent humans.
Forget the involvement with vampires.
Lucy FUMBLES for the button because she had to CLEAR THIS UP. RIGHT. NOW. D: ]
[ Video 2/2 ]
[ Atta girl Lucy, explain to this crazy reporter that Fairy Tail isn't a dangerous cult with ties to vampires and attack innocent muggle/humans! ]
Th.. THere's no romance of any kind between Natsu and me~!!
[ Or you could ... not, and instead focus on the one thing that is /least/ important of all the misunderstandings. Deny harder, girl, she might believe it! ]
video;
Maybe not yet, but there certainly will be next time.
video;
[ Okay there was that one time she kissed Natsu but that was CURIOSITY since she was told she had done so before while drunk! ]
T-THere's no way! We're nakama - best friends and teammates! We.. i.. it's not like that with us!
video;
video;
What's... that supposed to mean!? There's no Seeing about anything!
[ sob ;o; ]
A-anyway! Everything else you said is all wrong too! [ But she can see Natsu's already responded to that, so she won't repeat it. Man, she should have used voice mode. ]
video;
Then you deny attacking poor... Bruce, was it?
video;
I - [ She grimaces. ]
You don't have your facts straight! If you saw what happened then you'd know that the only reason Natsu challenged him was because Bruce tried dragging me a...
[ Oh. Oh shit. THIS IS NOT GOING TO HELP HER DEFENSE THAT THEY ARE JUST FRIENDS IS IT. ]
video;
So you don't deny it.
Re: video;
That he dueled with Bruce? No I don't deny it. He didn't do anything wrong. That's how things were settled in that time - with duels of honor. I hope you aren't seriously suggesting that it's wrong to want to protect your friends. If he hadn't...!
[ You ARE talking about the duel and not ... the other thing right? Because she's still denying anything more in that relationship. They are FRIENDS.
and don't you dare say 'with benefits' i will come over there and steal your cookies.]video;
video;
No it isn't. Is that the way it is where you're from?
video;
Re: video;
No I mean, it's not so much a law as common sense. Besides, Natsu didn't use his magic against Bruce. [ Granted he did put on quite a showing with the fire, but that always happened when he was furious. ]
He's not the kind of person to fight dishonorably. [ SHE SEES YOU ABOUT TO WRITE THINGS DOWN. STOPPIT. ]
video;
So you're saying his behaviour that day was out of the ordinary? So just what was it that propelled him from general misconduct to picking on the weak? Was it... [ she leans forward, eyes glinting ] you, maybe?
video;
W..what -I [ Oh dear god. Because yeah Natsu was trying to protect her from that jerk but Rita will twist THAT too. ]
That-- that's -- I don't have to answer that! [ Instead she focuses on the wrongful slander against her best friend! ]
You've got Natsu all wrong anyway! He doesn't pick on the weak and cause misconduct - [ Well uh, the destruction and stuff - that's only because the world can't handle his awesomeness. Or when he's furious because one of his precious nakama was injured. Lucy, stop talking to her! ]
video;
... What is it that you said this "guild" of yours did again?
video;
Love - it's not like that! We're just friends! [ So flustered. ;.; ]
We use our magic to help people in need, who don't have magic - or if other guilds are requested by the council to defeat Dark Guilds who are threatening the world, we cooperate with them to do so. [ Also she doesn't like how you said guild. ]
