Two questions:
Do ghosts abide here?

But I think-- if the world you wake up to later is full of enough bad things to make you wish for the dream, then it wouldn't be bad to chase the dream, even if you needed to wake up eventually.
No matter how happy you might be at one point in time, you will always be unhappy at another. It doesn't mean you should deny yourself happiness because you will lose it eventually.
