[Axel greets the feed with a look that teeters somewhere between abashed and indignant.]

Usually when someone gets sent back in time it's with the added perk of retaining everything they'd learned up til that point. I hope I'm not the only one who's really glad they grew out of who they were ten years ago. [He grins then and spins a frisbee around one finger.] At least I got to keep a souvenir this time, though~

By the way, anybody who shared their food with me when I was so rudely told that my currency from home was no good here, you have my sincere appreciation. [And surprisingly, he means it. Even the sincerity part!]

[And here he looks just plain abashed.] Hey, ah... I think I owe you something of an explanation. You free to receive one?

Yeah... Maya, you were there for it. You're too young to start losing your memory just yet.

[This guy sounds really familiar too]

Lea?

[He waits for her to connect the dots--come on, Maya, he doesn't look that different. Ah! And there's the recognition. Man, this whole name-change business is kind of a drag.]

Bingo~ Ah, well... it was Lea, but it's Axel now. Work-related, you understand; think you can memorize it?

But... But... you're so..... I mean, Lea was so dorky! You look kind of cool! [CLEARLY THAT'S HER ISSUE HERE]

.... Axel is pretty cool of a name, though.

[He starts to look like he might want to be offended by the dorky comment, but then he blinks in surprise. Wait, she thinks he looks kind of cool? Nobody ever thinks he's cool. Even Roxas stopped thinking he was cool after like a day or two, he's pretty sure. He really doesn't try to be cool, cuz that's too much like effort, but he still wants people to think he's cool, even if he's really not.

[Maybe the fact that he doesn't try is why he succeeds at all. But that is neither here nor there. He chuckles helplessly at her commentary.]

Maybe I just outgrew my dorkiness? I hear that happens sometimes. [And then he casually brushes a hand back through his hair.] I'll tell you a little secret: it's actually a name they gave me for work. So it's kind of like my secret-agent codename. How's that for cool?

[Well it's true, even if he makes it sound a little more dramatic than it is. ~~Also one day after he's canon updated to KH3D he will fridge-horror about this exact conversation.~~]

[Backhanded compliments are what Maya's all about]

You mean... As Lea, you were a butterfly, and now you've grown into a caterpillar?! [Pretty sure it was the other way around, Maya. In any case]

[She looks appropriately impressed by the code name thing, though] So you're a secret agent now? No wonder you're dressed like that!

[So now Lea she knew was Axel.... It didn't look like he recognized her any more than he did, but that was just more timeline stuff and she was getting pretty used to it by now]

[He scratches his head. Wait, isn't that backwards? Before he can really contemplate the biology of insect metamorphosis, however, she's moved onto the next topic at hand. He half-shrugs and then gestures at the coat.]

Pretty snazzy, huh? Standard issue. [And then he taps his chin.] But I guess I'm not really on duty while I'm here. I mean, my boss ain't here, so I don't have to follow any icky orders unless he shows up.

Definitely snazzy. Do you have a hood, too?

There you go, you can make your own missions instead! Is he a good kind of boss?

'Course! No self-respecting secret agent would go around without a hood to look shady wearing. [He reaches back and tugs the hood up and gives her an exaggeratedly shifty glance from beneath it...

[... and then tosses it back.]

I don't usually wear the hood though, actually. I mean, I get terrible hood-hair.

Er... [And then he sort of half-grimaces.] I guess you could say he's an effective boss, but [He jabs his chest with his thumb.] he's not gonna win any popularity contests with this guy.

Good! I bet it makes for great cover in the night, too.

[Maya watches with rapt attention...!] Are you kidding? Your hair's so pointy I'm surprised it didn't poke right through it! [Kind of like Nick's, only Le... Axel's hair spiked in more directions]

Oooh, is he really stuffy? I know that type exactly!

Indeed~ Why, it's almost like I can just disappear right into the shadows~ [Note to self: use a corridor sometime and disappear into thin air to see her reaction. And then he gives her a reproachful look and reaches up to tweak at a spike of his hair.] Oh, come on now, it's kinda wiry, sure, but it's not actually sharp, you know? It'd be pretty hard to nap if that were the case.

Mm, I'm not sure if 'stuffy' is the right word. He's kind of melodramatic and full of himself, though. Likes to hear himself talk, makes a lot of weird analogies... [Axel, you do that too.] Kind of obsessive, too.

A great skill for a secret agent to have! Do you have any extras? I totally want one, too! [Note to self: Make Phoenix buy her one if she can't get it from him] Are you sure about that? It looks like a weapon!

Ooooh.... Yeah, I know those types too! What's he obsessing over? Quotas and stuff?

Alas, I didn't have a chance to pack a bag before I left home, so I didn't bring a spare. I think the sleeves would be way too long for you, anyway.

[And then he laughs.]

Quotas is one way to put it. He's got a bit of a one-track mind, you might say: all he thinks about is achieving his singular goal. So I guess his dedication is laudable, in a way, but I'm getting kinda bored with it.

[Boo you whore[ That sucks! If you find an extra one, you have to let me know, okay? [IGNORING THE SLEEVES COMMENT OKAY]

Huh.... I bet he eats up paperwork and boring procedures, too. Maybe you should do something to shake it up?
