[painwheel gives wright directions to where she lives because she doesn't exactly stay in the Initiative provided rooms ~~that is in fact a thing I should mention more often~~ and is now outside waiting for him.

will she ever be able to stop being nervous about being outside? maybe. sooner than one might think, actually!

[Phoenix doesn't rush (it's not a good idea to run in sandals), but he makes sure to walk at a good pace so he doesn't keep his friend waiting for too long. He's got a few ideas about what he could take her to do -- lunch, maybe? There's a cafe, but he knows there are restaurants if she wants to eat something there.

They can totally raid the music shop and see what cool or weird music they have there. A bookstore would be nice, or maybe she just wants to take a walk.

He arrives at her place while still thinking, and he raises his arm in a wave when he spots her.]

[She seemed casual and calm enough about it all. Could it be that Painwheel was actually doing better at this whole "being outside" stuff?

... Maybe!]

So... where do you wanna go?

I was just thinking about that on the way here. Is there anything you want to do?

[He's learned enough of the corny-gentlemanly greeting from standing across the courtroom from Edgeworth. He throws his arm out dramatically in a bow, then raises his head to grin at her.]

We can go anywhere you want.

[Some would think it corny. Painwheel however is not one of those. If she didn't have a mask on, she'd be blushing hardcore right about now.

But, oh gosh. So many choices, and having to make one so suddenly!]

Somewhere to eat... Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

Then for food we head out. What do you like to eat? I can't afford three-course meals or anything like that, but hey -- I offered, so I'll see what I can do.

[He's glad she sounds like she's enthusiastic about this.]

I'm not very picky. [she lives on her own, so own meals aren't anything extravagant.] I mean, I'm already being treated, by you. So...

It's no big deal. It'll be fine, whatever we get!

[He puts a hand to his chin as he motions to her to let's start walking, turning to head toward the city. He strolls at an easy pace so they can be on the move, but not in a rush.]

My default answer is burgers, since it's hard to go wrong with burgers. Or how about a diner! Those have a pretty good variety to choose from.

We could go to... [come on, Painwheel, don't just take the easy way out. you can do this!] A diner.

Yeah, let's go ahead and do that. Sound good?

[He laughs, good naturedly, and finds somewhere on her shoulder he can pat gently.]

All right, we'll head for a diner. And maybe if something catches your attention on the way, we can go there too. Yeah?

Sure, that's a good plan.

Um... Thanks, for doing all this for me.

Ask, and you shall receive, Painwheel. Besides, we're friends aren't we?

Um, yeah... We're friends!

[She seems oddly happy about this obvious fact.]

[Her confirmation seems to please him, and he grins widely before swinging his arms as he walks.]

[He briefly wonders if she would get along with Maya. Maya can get along with lots of people.. and they look around the same age too.]
