That was a bit of an adventure wasn't it? I'm kind of embarrassed to remember it. How was it for anyone else?

Oh, and... [A pause. Then he clears his throat.] Aah, never mind. It really is a bad idea to let kids into something like this. But I guess Father's Day will be a little lonely from now on.

I think I owe you an explanation. Got some time for lunch?

[to Edgeworth, in the evening]
Do you have some time? I'll pay for tea, or coffee, or whatever you drink.

Hey now, it's not my fault. I'm a pianist. Though I guess now I can call myself a gentleman pianist, too.

You can order whatever you want. Then we can sit down and I've got something to tell you.

... A pianist? [That gets him an odd look, breaking her out of her thoughts.]

Nick, you're a lawyer, not a pianist, what are you talking about?

[Also weird: him offering to buy her food without her having to wheedle at him.] Well, okay...

That, I'll explain too. Believe me. I'm a pianist.

[He pats her head playfully and smiles.]

Did you hit your head or something? [The odd looks persist, especially after the headpat. As much as she'd started to get used to this new Nick, behavior like this just threw her off. She couldn't read him again...]

[But for the moment, she decides to let it go. He said he'd explain, didn't he? Besides, she'd originally come here for him]

What are you getting? [Her order's pretty predictable]

I think I'll get one order of whatever you plan to get. So you can tell them your order and just add one more to it.

Copying me? Well, okay...

[She's a little uneasy, but she orders without ado - and sort of plainly. But considering the portions she's getting, Phoenix might not be able to finish it.]

Not copying! Wait wait wait, don't give me the same amount as you, I'll die. My wallet will!

Too late, Nick! [WHAT A WHINER. She sighs dramatically]

If it's too much for you then I'll eat it. [Not the issue here, Maya]

No no no no, it's too much for my wallet. [He tries to halt her with a hand on her head.] Please?

[HUFF!!]

You should get a job and stop being so lazy already. [Says the girl mooching off of him. But fine, she changes her order so his is small.]

Very, very happy. [He laughs as he steps in to pay the marques.]

Good. Now let's find somewhere to sit.

[And she trots off without waiting for an answer.... apparently you get to carry the food, too]

[He expected as much. He watches where she heads off to and follows her once their food is ready -- it probably takes a few minutes -- to set it down on the table, sliding into the booth across from her.]
