It simply means to know yourself and therefore others will come to understand you. It's a natural course and it does take time but it isn't beyond anyone, human, half-human or even demons to know who they are.

It also can mean an understanding of your place in the world around you regardless if it's your home or not. Keeping that phrase in mind should help you. It helped me through some really difficult times.

In other words, the journey to understanding others is to understand yourself first. Who you are is just as important as the person you sit across in the lounge. Ask yourself simple questions like, do I really like shrimp or steak better? Do I like pink instead of blue? Those are only examples, but they do help.

Sometimes, it's not hate that drives others to make you believe such a thing, it's a lack of understanding that lead to that hate. People, in general, fear what they don't understand and they hate what they see in others as a part of themselves, if that makes any sense to you.
