[The feed starts, focusing on a girl who appears to be around sixteen. She's sitting on a bed in the apartment she's been assigned to. She appears tense, nervous, though she does her best not to let that carry to her voice as she begins to speak.]

I'm sort of, um, not really new to the whole getting sent to a different world all of a sudden thing, so I don't really have any questions about that. I got everything about the war thing, too, even if I'm not going to have anything to do with it. I did have a few questions about some other things, though, so I'd be really grateful if there's someone out there who knows the answer!

The first thing might seem a little bit silly, but it's important. Um, to me, at least! I just wanted to know if there's a dance studio anywhere in this city, and where it is if there is one. The second thing I wanted to know is kind of more general, but, um, if the words Siren's Port mean anything to anyone here, I'd like to know, and to talk to those people a little bit, if I could. And the third thing...

[She pauses, looking down at her hands, away from the tablet.]

What do you think is the best place here to watch the sun go down? Um, thank you in advance.

[But then she pauses, registering that voice as she looks up into the screen. Her eyes widen, she blinks once, twice, and stares for a moment before speaking.]

Maya?

[After that comes a smile, warm and genuine, as she picks up the tablet, moving it closer.]

Oh my God, I thought I would never see you again! When did you get here?

Ah--

[Okay, this girl recognizes Maya. But Maya doesn't remember seeing her before.]

[She's dealt with this before, though. And while right now she isn't sure to play along or apologize, but she does smile!]

Hey! Um, I've been here for a while.

[If she wasn't so relieved, so thankful, she might realize there's something slightly off about that response. But as it is...]

I missed you so much! Have you been alright?

Y-Yeah. [She's starting to feel really guilty] Have you?

Um, I should probably let you know something...

A lot of stuff has happened since you left... Hey, you remember that boy I told you about?

Yeah, what is it, Maya?

Um... There's a lot of weird timeline stuff going on in this place... Like, some people being from the past, or future...

[She pauses, not quite following, but then - oh.]

You don't know me, do you? I-I'm sorry, that must have seemed really weird.

N-No, you don't have to apologize... It's me who should be apologizing.

[But, she's dealt with this before. And the conclusion she's reached in all of these cases:]

...That's not it, though. It's not that I don't know you. It's just that I'm missing some memories. We're friends, right?

[She smiles, though it's forced. Normally, hearing those words, it would be much more genuine, but she's still reeling, trying to reign herself in.]

Yeah, we are.

[Maya will smile right back. She's been on both ends on this by now, what else can she do?]

So that's the important part! And no weird time stuff is going to change that.

We just have to make some new memories together.

...Okay. I'd like that.

And we can start right now!
