Two truths and a lie used to be big with my friends. You say three "facts" about you or things you've done or seen. People try to pick one out as a lie, and then it's their turn to do the same thing. For example:

1. I've been crocodile wrestling.
2. I once flunked a vocabulary test because I forgot to put my name on the top.
3. I crashed a dune buggy when I was twelve and despite totaling the dune buggy, the worst I ended up with was a badly scraped up elbow.

Anyone up and around for a game?

Hmm, but a bedroom of roses sounds pretty mischievous to me... would you prank yourself like that at all?

I should hope not.

[a pause.]

I was a decent child, once. I enjoyed playing with my brothers and they always treated me fairly.

You were sweet. I think it was nice to get a chance to meet the younger you, even if you're not asking for my opinion on the matter. Hmm... I don't know how to explain the rose mystery!

[falsehoods]

[There is a shuffling. It's the sound of him sitting in his throne and easing into a comfortable slouch as he sets the communicator down beside him.]

I have told you three things. Three things about myself. But which is the lie?

[He taps his fingertips together, his voice having only a slight hint of the sly grin on his face.]

Oh right! Wow, way to forget my own game there.

( Quietly considering what he'd said. )

From the mischief maker himself... I don't know how many siblings play fair all the time, and like I said, you were pretty decent for a mischievous god when you were younger so... three?

[falsehoods]

That is correct. I did not, in fact, receive much affection from any of my siblings.

[Another calculated pause]

Of course, I am notoriously untrustworthy. All three points may be falsehoods. Then again, I am also mischief so all three may be truths. Who is to say?

You are, of course! Though if you want to or not is something different.

( Her pause is less calculated, more... expectant. )

Is it my turn?

Why...Yes, I believe it is.

All right! Then here are my three.

1. A magician managed to change my entire life and world in one night.
2. I once had a goldfish named Fatso. I won him at a school fair.
3. I'm pretty good at singing when I try.

I shall say the second, for no other reason than that I would hope the other two to be true.
