[So he's figured out how this tablet works now, so started reading back a bit. One thing has mostly caught his attention, so here he is.]

A lot of you seem adamant to abstain from offering your loyalty to the initiative, which...I understand in the sense that they are strangers just as much as the United Earth.

But should the claims of their forces attempting to raid your own home world be true, it would have disastrous consequences for the people you know still there. Is that worth the risk?

Or is there something else I'm missing here?

[Kaworu was expecting some kind of answer like that, so it isn't really that surprising. Although it does still feel a bit marvelous to be speaking to someone who feels like a living, walking metaphor.

The video camera turns on so he can introduce himself.]

[Weird. He runs into newbies like himself a lot more than people who've been here for a while; that actually makes him wonder if it's not a coincidence.]

There are a lot of new people.

How are you taking to it?

Crossing into other worlds isn't exactly something I'm unfamiliar with. It's not a strange experience by any means.

It's been disorienting. I am supposed to be dead.

As far as I can tell a lot of people here should be, it's the one thing about this entire situation that bothers me.

Most people here don't seem to understand people die for a reason. That's why resurrection is so uncommon, let alone unheard of in most realms.

If my superiors knew what was going on this entire world wouldn't have much time left.

[he gives him a detached smile.]

So... you have some power over it. Not to be rude, but is there nothing you can do about it here, on your own?

Of course I could.

I just don't feel like interfering. But if they said I had to, I would have no choice.

Before I ended up here, death was the only path for me to go down in order to find freedom.

I don't much appreciate that the Initiative took that from me.

[A pause, as if he considers this.]

If you've got a deathwish, I'll oblige. Whether you live or die is no consequence to me, but I'm of the opinion the dead ought not to be resurrected as carelessly as the initiative think it so wise to do.

[That's interesting. Kaworu can't help but wonder what the extent of this being's powers are. But as much as he'd like to be gone from this place, he can't make that decision quite yet. Without missing a beat, he ignores the proposition, for now.]

And why do hold that opinion? Because they're going against your will?

[He could give plenty of other reasons that would sound valid, but in all honesty...]

If Death could be so easily avoided, it wouldn't exist in the first place.

Now if more people understood that, Death really wouldn't be as bad as they expect it to be.

It's only when someone struggles as much as they can that they suffer.

Well, I think it may be a bit unfair to expect humans not to struggle, isn't it?

Humor me another question, if you don't mind - when you say the Initiative is resurrecting people, do you just mean when they bring Transports who have died in their own worlds? Or are they doing something more extensive?

So far, it's only the former.

If there's anything else going on I haven't caught wind of it yet. But with the way things are going here I wouldn't be surprised if they had some means of keeping their "army" alive. With how long things have been in operation surely people must have died already.

Hm. If they have the technology to bring people back in the initial instance, I can't see them not using the same methods to maintain our numbers.

[In other words, Death's offer to end him was a nice sentiment, but if Kaworu had to guess, he'd say it wouldn't work.]
