Gwen? [ A beat. ] Merlin? [ Another beat. ] Arthur?

[ There is something distinctly off when the feed switches on, where there was once coldness now is warmth and concern. She looks around and the camera shakes a little before panning up to a face that looks so familiar but different at the same time. ]

If you're trying to scare me this is in very poor taste.

[ Here is a face some will remember, brave, stubborn, fierce; so full of the fire and warmth she had once upon a time possessed completely. She looks as if she stepped right out of the castle instead of looking as she had stepped right out of a hovel in the middle of a forest.

Morgana's brow furrows, her patience clearly reaching it's limit. What vague memories she has tells her they are here with her, but nothing more ─ so really stop hiding you jerks, it is not cool.

She sits nearby something busy (market most likely) judging by the sounds, tablet in her lap with a look of displeasure plain on her face. She had plans you see, though she barely remembers what they were, only they have been ruined by something; yet another thing she cannot properly remember.

Today is simply not her day. ]

[ Maybe she's on the cider.

But she doesn't look intoxicated and Gwen knows for fact Morgana handles her alcohol better than most men. She had never seen her intoxicated except for that one solitary time on her sixteen birthday when she was a bit too cheerful and Gwen had to tuck her in, gown on and everything -

Never mind.

She tries to fight the confusion but it's right there. Morgana is acting oddly like -- herself. ]

I've -

[ what does she even. ]

I've been here my Lady. Where are you?

Outside. [ She gives the camera a puzzled look, the way she sees it it is Gwen who is acting odd. For a moment she is concerned, is she tired? Has she been resting well? This place puts pressure on them all, especially Gwen who has never really been a fighter. ]

I had some things to do today, though it has slipped my mind. I had expected you and Arthur to join me.

[ Her and Arthur - expected her and Arthur.

Now Gwen feels really out of the loop, much like the first time Morgana arrived and she felt she had missed something.

Looks like she missed it, again. ]

I - forgive me. I must have forgotten. I.

[ erm. ]

Morgana.

[ perhaps Gwen herself sounds as if she's on the cider, with her looking at Morgana as if she had seen her for the first time after years and years. ]

I'm just happy to see you.

[ A feeling she understands, as valiant as your efforts are Gwen she can tell that there is something off... or at least Morgana feels as she had missed something herself. ]

It is no matter, you needn't apologize. I am just glad you are alright.

[ Gwen is easily forgiven, especially with Morgana having forgotten whatever it was her plans had been. ]

As I am to see you. [ She gives her a smile, wide and bright, genuinely pleased to hear those words, to see her face. ]

Are you well?

Very well, my lady. You mustn't worry.

[ she curtsies again, a smile forming on her lips. ]

I could escort you - once you remember what was it that you wished to do.

I would much rather your company now, if you have nothing pressing to attend to.

[ She yearns for friendly company, for a face she can trust that will bring a smile to her own, a soul to sooth the uneasy restlessness that has taken residence inside her. ]

Of course, my lady.

[ she would never deny Morgana, not ever. Morgana would ask and Gwen will put on her shoes and hurry to see her, especially when she is - her again, Morgana again, and not the shadow she had been before. ]

Where should I meet you?

[ She brightens at the answer, more than pleased. ]

Out by the markets.

I will be there at once.

[ It may sound as if she is hurrying to obey an order but the truth is Gwen hurries to take her cape and rush out because of something else entirely. Morgana, warm like the sun and herself and she calls for her and Gwen hurries to her. Walks quickly and with intent until she can see her and breathes out her relief in the form of Morgana's name. ]

Morgana - are you well? I have brought you a cape. It might be cold.

[ Morgana is up the moment she sees her, meeting her friend half way with a smile so bright on her face. ]

Yes, I am well now that you are here. [ For her friend has always been able to cheer her up and make her feel better by her presence alone. ]

[ In person, it is even more clear that Morgana is exactly as Gwen remembered her. She's not sure what happened, she doubts Morgana knows herself at this state, but she welcomes her still. With a sigh of relief she acts without thinking, wrapping her arms around Morgana's shoulder in a hug that clearly says, I've missed you; where have you been? where did you go? ]

[ It is a surprise, but not one she is at all against. With a laugh she warps her own arms around her, returning the hug with so much relief and sure pleasure to see her friend. ]

Are you sure you are well, Gwen?

I'm certain - ! Forgive me, my Lady.

[ and then she retreats, still smiling, overjoyed with the warmth that shines in Morgana's embrace and smile. ]

I am fine.

There is nothing to forgive, Gwen. [ Though she knows something is off, with both her and Arthur. ]

I am glad, I would always have you well with a smile on your face.

[ And if only I could make it so you will always remain smiling too, she thinks but brushes it aside, shakes her head with a smile. ]

Where are we going?

[ She moves to Gwen's side, looping her arm through the other woman's. ]

No where in particular, I simply wish to walk with you. There are not many days that allows us such things, we must take advantage of them when we can.

The weather is lovely.

[ she smiles, tries to forget everything else. Focus, Gwen. we must take advantage of them. Morgana says and she is right. This blessing won't last forever. ]

Perhaps we could search for some flowers. I could put them in your hair. It's been a while since I've done that.

[ The look that appears on her fair can almost be described as childish glee. ]

It certainly has. Come then, let us find some flowers for us both.

[ She clings to the idea almost desperately, something to distract her from the pit in her stomach. Spending time with Gwen should dispel it, she hopes it does. ]

I think white ones would do nicely. They'd make a nice contrast. Like the wildflowers I used to pick you. They grew more freely in Camelot than they do here but they are still beautiful.

I remember those flowers. [ Her smile widens. ] You would braid them into my hair, they were more beautiful than any jewels I own.

Do you remember the one that lord brought you for your birthday? The one with the big, red stone?

[ she laughs. The look on Morgana's face when she got it was priceless and Gwen bit her lip to not laugh. ]

Yes. [ She laughs. ] Yes, I do. It was so big I couldn't wear it without it causing me some sort of harm. [ Her gaze flicks to Gwen and the brightness on her face. ] I could have sworn you were going to burst from holding in your laughter.

[ She bites her lip even now. ]

I thought I would to. The look on your face - he might as well had packed a toad together with the necklace.

He said it was to be as beautiful as the woman he was giving it to, but it wasn't not in the slightest.

[ She shakes her head, more laughter escaping her lips. ]

It was utterly terrible.

But you are. His compliment was well-placed, the jewel less so.

[ it's not secret Gwen thinks Morgana to be the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. ]
