On no good business (video)
[one of the few, if vague, things that Frodo remembers from his time before in Exsilium is how to work the tablet. The hobbit on the video is a tween, voice a bit higher than before and a mischievous look to his eyes.
He's leaned down, as if forming a conspiracy with all those on the network; whispering (loudly still) with possible partners in crime, if you will]
Has anyone got a list of what the kitchens around here serve? Or what times they find themselves the busiest? This is very important!

[He makes a surprised face at the camera.]
What? Why ever not? I can assure you I have the stickiest of fingers when it comes to this sort of thing. Unless you're thinking you wish to prove to me your skills in thievery.
Re: [video]
[Frodo sounds so very shocked at the idea]
I bet you don't have the stickiest of fingers, because I do! I'm the best hobbit for it in Buckland.
Why, I have even made off with Farmer Maggot's mushrooms a number of times. [he pauses for dramatic effect; any hobbit worth their weight knows the value of a good pause in a story] Three times, which is two more than any other hobbit has dared. I would go back and make another run this instant if I could!
[Frodo's puffed his chest out in pride; most hobbits find the dogs too terrifying. He hasn't been caught yet and he won't ever.]
You're a grown up. You don't do these things, you try to stop them.
[he almost used the Responsible word at you.]
I'll have you know I lift from Maggot's crops all the time! Carrots, radishes, cabbages. Why, my friend Merry and I once lifted three whole bags of potatoes!
[He stops. Why is he showing off to his (temporarily) young cousin? He should be acting responsibly, shouldn't he? He's a soldier of Gondor! A hero of the War of the Ring! But then he thinks back to the Shire, and the accomplishments his fellow Hobbits deem great. It makes him smile.]
Well, I will say that taking his mushrooms three times is quite a feat indeed, and I am sure no Hobbit shall ever outmatch you there.
Re: [video]
Wait.]
But you had a friend to help you and those weren't his mushrooms in any case. He loves his mushrooms! So a real challenge would be to lift those!
[Frodo does beam at him though, more freely than he had in a long time.
At last, a grown up who sees what an accomplishment it is. Instead of scolding him or taking him by the ear]
It is, and you are right, I don't think any will! I think I like you, even if you are a grown; if I had made a run on his fields, I'd even give you some mushrooms.
[only some though. The rest are his. It's the thought that counts though]
And I should have been most happy to accept a gift of mushrooms from you! Now, what are your plans? You already know you may trust me, and perhaps I had better come along just in case you are caught. You know, not all the Big Folk here are normal. Some are quite Wizard-like, and may sense you no matter how quietly you sneak about the place.
Re: [video]
At lunch time, I am going to see about snatching some pastries if there's some around, and a pie, if I can find it. [a pie sounds great, a meat one especially now] If you come too, we can make off with even more and I'll share mine with you too.
...Wizard-like? [Frodo has said this with a bit of alarm] I wouldn't dare steal from a Wizard, they could turn you into a big ugly toad if they caught you.
[Vicious dogs are apparently all right to risk, but even Frodo would not risk a wizard's wrath!]
[After all, they were there against their will. What was the harm of liberating some pastries?]
Indeed. There are powerful people about, but if there's trouble, I'll try to keep them talking so that you might escape in the meantime. Now, where shall we meet?
Re: [video]
Let's meet at the big courtyard and we'll set out first thing.
But... what if they turn you into a toad?
Oh, well, I'm hoping I can talk my way out of something quite so... toady. If not, I'm a very fast runner, and maybe their spell will fly through the air and miss me.
[Now he's actually a little worried, but he tries not to let it show.]
Re: [video]
[Frodo and his imagination; not helping]

Re: [video]
You must be the bravest hobbit out there, next to Bilbo.
I'm rather brave, yes. But do you know? I believe you'll become even braver than I when you are grown.
Re: [video]
[Frodo might as well have scuffed a toe offscreen, sheepishly. He has yet to admit this many hobbits]
Sometimes I don't feel very brave.
Re: [video]
Then I hope I will be brave if the time comes. As brave as Bilbo and as wise as you.
I am sure you will be. And what I high compliment! I thank you.
