On no good business (video)
[one of the few, if vague, things that Frodo remembers from his time before in Exsilium is how to work the tablet. The hobbit on the video is a tween, voice a bit higher than before and a mischievous look to his eyes.
He's leaned down, as if forming a conspiracy with all those on the network; whispering (loudly still) with possible partners in crime, if you will]
Has anyone got a list of what the kitchens around here serve? Or what times they find themselves the busiest? This is very important!

( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[It's the youngster's eyes that give his identity away. The hobbit looks no older than a tween now. A stark contrast to the fully grown halfling that Aragorn knows so well.]
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
Frodo imagines he smells.
He smells like Adventure.]
That's me, who are you? How do you know me?
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
This is becoming a rather strange day for the ranger.]
You and I are companions, friends, or least we were.
[He pauses briefly.]
Do you truly not remember my name? I am Aragorn.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[he remembers his manners, and a bit formally, because one of the matrons would have his head for being so very rude] It's nice to meet you.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[He chuckles lightly.]
Well met.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[better not to ask what sort of look. He may have dug a hole for himself...and kept digging]
[now what? This next question seems very matter of fact, because Big Folk]
Have you ever been in a fight?
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
Of course I have.
[He answers the youth's question with a near grin.]
I have survived many perilous encounters.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
Oh, tell me all about them! Please?
Were they scary? Did you swing a white sword around, cleaving through the air itself in a shower of sparks and roar of thunder as it came crashing down to smite down your enemies?
[he's always loved books, for when the hobbit stories have grown boring]
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[As rambunctious as any Shireling youth, this little hobbit wastes no time hurling question after question at Aragorn. The ranger almost can't keep up with him.]
One question at a time.
[What's that last bit about a white sword? Aragorn arches his brow at that.]
While I possess no mythical white sword, I certainly own a blade far greater than any myth.
[He knows his answer shall leave the Shireling begging to know more.]
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[oh fine, he's old enough not to keep on, but it looks like it is certainly an effort for him not to spill even more questions. And he almost fails when Aragorn next speaks. A blade greater than anything else]
Really? Truly? [it's almost accusing, Aragorn must be making this up, and daring the Man to give up this game]
...Can I see it?
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
Thus once he pulls the sword free from its sheath, the ranger holds it proudly before the tablet with a faint smirk.]
You would doubt me, but the Flame of the West burns greater than any sword you may know.
[With that brief showing of the sword, Aragorn quickly sheathes it. He will not sully Andúril any further with such childish antics, and is quick to return it to his mantle.]
Andúril, once known as Narsil, is the sword of Elendil forged anew by Elven smiths.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[It's whispered, as if to remember it always. Frodo's eyes have gone impossibly wide with wonder, and he reaches forward to touch the tablet, then remembers himself. This is the first actual sword he has seen, a proper sword at least, and it is the most impressive thing he has ever seen, next to one of the Bolgers managing to crush their own cart with one of their prize pumpkins]
That is a truly wonderful sword! And elves! Did you get to meet them while they were reforging your sword?
[Frodo has to think long and hard for a moment. Part of those names sounds familiar, in stories even they have heard, but it's the sort of stories that hobbits little like to tell. They are too dark, and things best left unthought of; even now, its enough to leave any hobbit with a shiver of unease, and so, the stories are not spoken of if possible. Hesitantly;]
Elendil, was he the one...? [it almost seems like it will become real if he says the name. Frodo seems a little uncomfortable and braves it out, though he's actually whispering now] Was he one of the Big Folk who fought the Shadow in the East?
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[It's somewhat surreal for Aragorn to be talking to Frodo like this. Literally just the other day the hobbit was a fully grown adult, and now he's just a little boy.]
Yes. [His smile fades once the child recognized the name of his ancestor.] Elendil and his sons were the ones who battled the Dark Lord of Mordor.
[He refuses to mutter Sauron's name to the youth.]
Narsil was the blade that Elendil wielded, but it wasn't him who slew the Dark Lord.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[despite his love for stories and adventures, he doesn't quite like the stories about Mordor.]
It must be the mightiest sword of all time if it was used against the Shadow.
[he's also had another thought]
You must be the best of warriors if you've fought so much. Would you teach me how to use a sword?
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[Aragorn honestly has endless stories about his childhood in Rivendell. So Frodo doesn't have to worry about him ever speaking about Mordor. Even he's not fond of such tales.]
It is. [The ranger falls silent for a moment.] It truly is.
[He perks up a bit once Frodo surprises him with an expected question.]
You wish to learn how to wield a sword?
[Aragorn can't help but chuckle.]
Perhaps another day, Frodo. I do believe you're more interested in food than swordsmanship today.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
Yes I do. I've practiced with branches and sticks loads of time, I'm not bad.
[Aw. He's willing to wait on food for a little even. Still, his stomach has growled, and so loudly the tablet catches the sound.]
Aw. Well. I guess you're right.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[It's almost a shame that Frodo doesn't recall anything from their time together before, but at least the hobbit is free from the taint of the Ring.
...Wait.]
Frodo? [His tone turns more serious now.] Is it still in your possession?
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
What is?
[The Ring hangs around his neck still, just as his clothes had stayed, but remained too large for him. he's rolled up the sleeves and breeches.]
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[That faint glimmer of gold caught his attention almost immediately. It would seem that the halfling is still in possession of the One Ring after all.
This could prove to be very dangerous.]
Where are you? We must meet soon.
[That is no idle trinket around the youth's neck. It isn't wise leaving Frodo with the Ring.]
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[a chance to meet this Man, Frodo leaps at it]
There's a lot of snow in the courtyard, I'm going out there now to have a good look at it.
[He's going to go look for food, but only after he's done with the snow. The food will be there, the snow won't be for long]
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
The courtyard? Hm, I suppose that would do.
[As much as he dislikes the bitter chill of winter, Aragorn decides to meet the youth out there.]
I'll be waiting.
Re: ( ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ )
[and he seems much less concerned than Aragorn. With that, he turns off the tablet]
