For those of you who may not know me, I’m Nathaniel Howe, one of the newly promoted sergeants of the transport section of the Exsilium city watch. I will do my best to protect the citizens and the transports, and offer my services whenever needed.

However, there is something much more important that I need to discuss. I and my fellow Grey Warden Duncan have just returned from a brief reconnaissance excursion in United Earth territory. We weren’t able to glean very much new information regarding our enemy, but we did procure this:

[Nathaniel holds up a small vial--approximately half the size of a standard test-tube--filled with some unknown liquid]

We found this on one of the citizens of the United Earth, and we have great reason to believe that it contains the drug that is being used to keep the citizens docile, and to prevent them from rising up against their leaders.

Unfortunately, neither Duncan nor myself has been able to determine what exactly is contained in the solution. We are, of course, sharing what we’ve found with the Initiative, but I am also calling on my fellow transports to see if there is anyone who has the knowledge or means to possibly determine what ingredients are in the drug, and to hopefully find an antidote.

If you are interested in helping, please let me know. I’m also willing to answer whatever questions anyone might have about what we learned.

[OOC INFO: So Duncan and Nathaniel have been gone for about a week, scoping out the United Earth territory. The drug they brought back is a very small supply that all citizens are required to carry on them for emergency purposes.

The information provided by our lovely moderators is that no one will be able to determine the chemical make-up of the drug, as it contains futuristic ingredients that none of the transports would be familiar with. BUT! We would love to get some transports involved in trying, either by handwaving or logging or whatever. So yeah, everyone’s free to jump in on this!]

Uh. I'm a chemist, but... I mean, what you're talking about here is like some crazy advanced shit.

I thought it likely would be. I'm not from earth, though, so I'm not that familiar with any of the herbs or what you call chemicals that are here.

There's a lotta stuff here I never saw on Earth in my time, either. If you wanna give me a little bit of the sample, though, I could take it down to the Initiative lab and look at it. Not making any promises, but...

That would be greatly appreciated, and promises aren't necessary. I will take whatever offers for help I can get, no matter how slim the chances are of being able to find an antidote.

Has, um... Has anybody tried testing it? Like, taking a dose?

No. It's not something I'm willing to risk, either. I have no idea what the dosage of this is, or how our bodies would react to it.

You have no idea what could be in it. It could- I don't know, make you insane or, like, sterile, or a mind-zombie or whatever.

I doubt the U.E.'s sterilizing their own people. And if they were crazy we'd hear about that, too.

We gotta find an antidote for this thing before they try using it on all of us. I'm used to this stuff. If anybody should be a test subject, it's me.

Well, I already told you I'd let you have a sample of the drug--a small sample. I'll... let you decide how best to go about testing it.

Just remember that there could be dangerous consequences; we might not be able to die here, but taking this might make you wish you could.

Can you tell me what the users were like? Their mood and whatever?

They were... like cattle, to be honest. Vacant stares, calm demeanors. They seemed to express a vague sort of happiness or euphoria, but no real emotion if that makes sense.

How were they moving? Like, sluggish?

Not sluggish so much as unhurried. As if it didn't really matter to them how long it took to get to their destinations.

How'd their eyes look?

I'm not sure, actually. I didn't examine them that closely.

Aight. Well, I'm guessing some kinda opiate if it ain't pure synthetic, but I'll know better once I test it.
