Color me curious, my fellow captives! The holiday season may be over, but it's still very much winter. What winter-like activities were your favorite back home? Playing in the snow? Curling up in blankets? Drinking something warm and delicious? If you feel like sharing, I'll listen!

[She's looking for any distraction she can get--January hasn't been a good month for her in a long, long time. This is something more obvious in person, however. Should her roommates interact with her or someone ask to hang out, it'll really seem like something more is on her mind.]

[Sam answering these videos was still quite rare, but he's feeling homesick and the question brought back memories.

He has a small smile on his face as he spoke] When snow lay on the ground and no one could rightly work we'd all go to the inn, tell stories of Winters past and sing. What about you, miss?

Stories and singing... that sounds nice.

Me? Well, I would usually play in the snow with my sisters and my friends. After a while of doing that, we'd go back in and have some warm drinks. Usually hot chocolate, but as we've all gotten older it's become a little varied between us.

That sounds fun. I must say I'm quite interested by the other worlds that people are from.

Oh yeah? You're not alone with that--I find myself really interested too, a lot of the time! The differences between worlds can get pretty interesting, you know?

They do. What was your world like miss, if you don't mind me asking.

[She thinks about this for a few moments before answering.]

Some things depend on where you live--villages and towns are smaller than cities, after all, and don't have as tall of buildings--but I'd say technology is pretty advanced. Not as much as it is here, though. This place is pretty futuristic compared to my home, right down to what year it is. My world thrives on a lot of things that are pretty trivial, and it's not perfect from a long shot. Still... it's mine. I miss it a lot, especially the people I left behind.

What about yours, since we're sharing?

[Sam nodded getting a bit of a picture of her world. He was very interested in technology, things like the tablet they were now speaking on. It was all very strange to Sam.]

My world isn't what you would call technologically advanced. A lot of things here I have never seen before. But my world was very varid, I grew up in the Shire, in Hobbiton to be exact, it's a small town and very green.

Not being technologically advanced isn't necessarily a bad thing. There are times I wish that things weren't so advanced here, and even back home. If some stuff were more... I don't know, simple? Maybe we'd be better off.

Hobbiton, huh? That's a cute name. And it sounds like a pretty place, if it's so green.

Well I don't know about simple, things can get plenty complicated even without technology.

Wow, I've been pretty rude in not telling you my name, huh? I know you can check for it, but I don't do that half the time. Can't really expect others to do that if I don't, right? So in case you didn't, my name's Tori Crawford. It's nice to meet you~!

No need to apologise, I've been wishing for things to be more simple here as well. I don't understand half of what is going on.

[Oh yes names were a thing, he blushed] I have been just as rude, it is nice to meet you miss Tori, I'm Samwise Gamgee.

Personally, I think the only reason I know half of what's going on is because I've been here for months on end. [Sighs.] I guess it can't be helped, even if we're pretty much fighting a war that isn't ours for them.

[No, she doesn't sound very happy about that!]

Samwise, huh? I've heard of the name Samuel before, but I think I like Samwise better. It's got a nicer ring to it~ [A short laugh before continuing.] So Samwise, are any of the people you know from home here?

[She'd been here for months? Fighting for these Initiative people. He shrugged] It's common enough where I come from. [And a nod] There are a few people I know here yes, how about for you?

For me, there hasn't been a single person from my world to arrive here who isn't me. I mean, that's not too big of a deal, but I guess it's part of why I made this post in the first place. Homesickness, you know?

[You can't help but long for the people who are usually around you when it's the time of year your mother died...]

[That was awful... Sam couldn't imagine being all alone here. For so long as well, he blinked sadly at her] I hope you get to go home soon. They'll let us wont they, when we have done what they want...

It makes sense that they would, that they'd let us go once things for them are over and done with. But who knows how long that will take?! [...] Ha, but I'm trying my best not to think like that too much. It's depressing, you know? I'd rather spend my time at least trying to make friends.

But that doesn't mean I don't get frustrated, that I won't complain about it, or that I like being here.

I'd be frustrated too, I hope you have friends here even if they aren't from home, it's an awful place to be lonely in.
