❦The Days of Old Align Anew [video; ]
[ After much hesitation on his part to address the situation towards those who hold some sort of power here, Aragorn finally decides to step forward and do just that. He honestly believes himself ill fit for such a public role, but he shan't step back and watch from the sidelines anymore.
This may come as a shock for his companions who hail from Middle-earth. Aragorn was hardly the type to step forward and lead, but usually the one forced to lead when no others would. ]
I am Aragorn son of Arathorn, and like many of you I've been drafted by the Initiative. Like you and countless others, we've been taken from our realms in order to fight a war not our own.
[ He finally stated once he realized that the tablet was recording. Aragorn possessed very little love for this means of communication, but for now he'll stomach it. Over time he'll realize just how useful these complex devices truly are but until then, he'll simply think of it as a nuisance. ]
We fight for a nameless cause, yet we're given very little initiative to fight on their behalf. While the rebels had been more than...adequate hosts; it would seem that many of us haven't fully explored this world or understand the reason of our plight. Our realms are in jeopardy by a force greater than our own, yet we know very little about our objective.
Therefore, I seek to know more about the efforts taken to achieve the Initiative's goal, and hopefully form a way for us to further our quest.
[ He paused briefly. ]
Is there anyone here willing to speak openly?

permavideo;
I have not been present for the mandatory missions, but the idea is that by going back in time and changing events, we might change the present in favor of the Initiative.
[ Her hair moves in a dismissive gesture when she continues. ]
It is not my area of expertise, though the idea is not unknown.
Re: permavideo;
Going back in time...?
[ He shook his head in disbelief. ]
Powerful magic is at play here. Magic that shouldn't be wielded so freely by mortal hands.

While I concur, it is hardly a problem that can be easily solved.
no subject
This much is true, but this is a problem we must solve.
no subject
[ It's something Medusa's working on, slowly but surely. But introductions are important - ]
I am Queen Medusa of the Inhumans and Kree.
no subject
Yes, adequate leadership is necessary if we wish to survive any of this.
[ Aragorn cannot help but sense he'll end up getting his hands dirty in this. ]
Queen of the Inhumans...?
[ She has some explaining to do. ]
I take it that your kind are quite different from my own.
no subject
All that is left is to hope that it does not come too late to do any good.
[ A pause, and she considers the fact that he mentioned magic. What was it her roommate said about an easy way to explain what made them so different in terms of magic? ]
Not so different. We perform a specific sort of magic [ What an inaccurate, inelegant word. ] of a sort upon ourselves to give us powers.
no subject
Agreed. We shall have to place our faith into a higher power.
[ Magic? So this woman and her people are likened to Gandalf the White and his Order? ]
Is that so? I had not expected to meet such people here, but surely your magic will aid us somehow.
no subject
[ A small smile, and a chunk of her hair moves in a dismissive motion, though it's not meant rudely. ]
It is only a means of expressing it, not true magic. Furthermore, the means through which my people gain their power would only have disastrous results when tried on anyone else.
no subject
You speak the truth.
[ His laughter ceased almost immediately once he noticed that her hair just moved. ]
Therefore, this is not truly magic, now is it? [ Aragorn nodded in mild understanding. ] Magic is not uncommon within my realm, but if it's truly not magic then feel no need to call it such.
It would be deemed an insult to who you are.
no subject
[ A smile, then. ]
But who we are is not determined by how one explains what we are, but the sum of our culture, our accomplishments, and yes, our genetics.
no subject
Both are words he's not very familiar with, but he tried his best to understand their meaning. ]
...You're simply born with these oddities?
[ Aragorn paused briefly as he mull over what she said. ]
These are your skills alone, no one else?
[ Oh, he's rather intelligent for someone hailing from a medieval realm. Well learned he is enough to possibly have a vague recognition as of what "genetics" mean. ]
Forgive me if I'm incorrect, but also forgive for prying so much.
no subject
[ It's a way to show off and brag, of a sort. ]
Our powers are the result of a process called Terrigenesis - but only Inhumans can undergo the process with a high chance of success. Uncontrolled mutation and death occur in those who are not of our race.
No other Inhuman has hair like mine, no. We pride ourselves on that we are all unique and have a place within society, yet we are Inhumans, and are more cohesive than humanity.
