There's been so much going on lately I've lost track of time. I've hit the ground running since I got here. [yeah yeah not much different from home. And nope not mentioning his birthday] I can't believe it's so close to Christmas already.

[Sylar's near enough to the place when he suggests it that it only takes him a minute to arrive. For all the powers he's acquired, none of them get him anyplace faster than the normal person; he makes a note to fix that. Lucifer didn't help, but there must be someone else here who can.

As Peter arrives, his lips twist into a smirk.]

[when Peter arrives, he looks calm for someone meeting up with a serial killer. He has no idea yet how far ahead Sylar is, what the man's seen and done. But going in blind is one thing Peter does a lot so he's not bothered]

I think this is way overdue, don't you? Just the two of us.

Long overdue. [He agrees. Sylar takes a step slowly, glancing back at Peter, subtly suggesting that they take a walk together instead of remain loitering in a public place.]

Tell me what you know. The future.

[he nods and follows after Sylar, letting the demand linger as he thinks of how best to answer this question]

There was a formula going around that gave anyone abilities. Mohinder used it on himself and turned himself into a monster. Someone told me I needed to find you to get help, and I was on my way there when I arrived.

Of course, that was after I spent a lot of time imprisoned. So I've missed a lot of the action lately.

You never found me? [He asks, genuinely curious. Sylar might be a dick most of the time, but every once in awhile, he recognizes the value of real information and connection and right now is one of those rare moments.] Why did they tell you to seek me, find me?

[The killer slides his hands into his pockets, trying to subtly emphasize just how harmless he's trying to be with Peter right now. For now. That can change, if it must, but this is an opportunity.]

I was told you would help me. [he gives Sylar a sideways glance. Peter was ready for a fight while going to the future Sylar's house, but what if the man changed? This Sylar definitely seems less dangerous]

If I asked, would you help me now?

That depends on what you're asking for. What you want help with. [He answers honestly. Sylar's not opposed to helping Peter out so long as it serves his own interests as well, or at least doesn't contradict them, because he needs people to trust him for now. He needs allies, people to vouch for him when he makes 'mistakes.' The killer glances down to the ground and to their path, then looks back to Peter. It's almost natural. Reminiscent of their brief time as brothers.]

What do you remember before leaving? You've missed a lot- Too much. In between.

[since he has to figure out a way to phrase "I want one of your powers" in a way that will make Sylar willing to give them, Peter answers the question to stall]

There was a hostage situation at a bank. Several escapees from Level Five were there. I'm not sure if you're familiar with it, but Level Five is where they keep the dangerous people with abilities. [of course he knows Sylar was the reason those guys escaped, but for now Peter won't reveal he was there]

I was trying to stop them from hurting anyone, but a time traveler stopped me and sent me four years into the future. He was the one who told me to find you.

I know how you feel. I lose track of time when I'm working on building or fixing shit.

Plus it was spring when I left home. Skipping all those months is a little disconcerting.

Yeah, it's weird to adjust to. When I was stuck touring with Kabbage Boy, it must have been early October. Then I spent a few months fighting in the Age of Metal before the Initiative picked me up here, and it's hard enough telling what season it is when the sky has fire and lightning flashing through it, even if it is fuckin' awesome.

You get used to it, though.

You must have been busy. That or you were enjoying your time.

Have you begun any of your training?

No. Not yet.

Any particular reason?

The last time I trained with anyone, he just beat me with a pole a lot and tried to get me arrested.

And did you manage to get his name?

Oh, yeah. He's not here, though. Just didn't leave a good impression on training.

As is to be expected when one gets beaten repeatedly with a pole.

[not to mention thrown off a roof :| ]

Time has a habit of slipping away when you're not looking.

So I've noticed. Maybe I should keep a better eye on it.
