[The screen comes on, to reveal one uncertain hobbit. This isn't at all what he is used to, but now that he has taken a closer look, interest takes over. Frodo leans in close and murmuring under his breath]

Such a fantastic glass.

[. He has gotten more used to it since the first time, but it still impresses him. Frodo clears his throat, all business and aware (so he has been told - and seen, unintentionally, thanks to Rick O'Connell's luck with the tablets) that he may have a number of eyes on him, more than he might expect. It feels odd speaking into this thing, rather than a group he can see, that for a moment, he finds himself pausing. He may never get used to this.

Now. Where to begin?]

My name is Frodo; well met to all of you. I wish it were under better circumstances, but as a good many already know, it seems we are quite stranded here for the time being.

There is one thing I wish to ask of you all; has anyone seen any other hobbits around? They would be small compared to you Big Folk, with curly hair on head and feet, and pointed ears.

[ She vaguely recognizes him from the few times she's been in and out of her assigned quarters and is glad she now has a name to put to him. Even if she doesn't plan on spending much time with her roommates it general, it's better to be acquainted than not. ]

[he dips his head a little in greeting, though it's clear his answer has disappointed him some, though relieved him at the same time. Merry and Pippin have not been seen, but perhaps they were spared the trip here.]

In a way, though elves have a more graceful look to them overall.

[he has not exactly made it a study - hobbit ears against elf ears, but elves as a whole seem more elegant, so why not their ears as well? An odd conversation to have, indeed.]

[ On some rare occasion Aragorn would spare a glance at his tablet, but for never too long would he linger upon it. He wasn't used to such strange devices, especially since Middle-earth possessed nothing quite like this. The ranger was almost content enough to use the damned thing as a cutting board, not at all grasping at the sheer scope of it's usage. However, after some thought Aragorn decided to attempt and use this device for the umpteenth time.

It didn't take him long to understand the functionality of this device, but it took him longer than he would've liked. Finally reaching the network itself through several tries, Aragorn's eyes widened once a familiar hobbit appeared. ]

...Frodo?

[ He hadn't expected this. ]

[There was a voice he never expected to hear. Frodo fairly grasps at the tablet, but looking the surface over, sees no sign of the Ranger. It is on the very tip of his tongue to use his true name - the one Frodo has just begun to get used to saying over Strider, then quickly changes his mind. Strider had reason not to use his name carelessly outside of Rivendell, just like Frodo had learned not to use Baggins. ]

Strider? Is that you?

[if he hadn't seen Po on the tablets earlier, this Transport would have given Frodo a large start. It still unsettles him: great creatures like Eagles talk, old ravens, spiders sometimes, but bears? Frodo still hesitates before answering]

Thank you very much. Friends, but mostly relations of mine. They are not fighters, though they do make up for it with heart: I worry for them if they are caught by surprise by this place.

I have not seen any hin - er, hobbits - here other than yourself, as far as I know. Perhaps one has spoken on the device and I either missed it or... well, it is hard to tell size through these.

If I see anyone like that description, I will ask them to contact you.

It could be, but thank you all the same for keeping an eye out for me.

[that is both remarkably encouraging and yet, discouraging at the same time! Things are better with your closest friends at your side, but better still if they were not forced to come here]

And is there no way at all to guess where they might end up if they do? I would like to leave a message or warning, so they may not stumble first thing danger like my poor gardener.

[ Once she's secured the privacy setting, she turns the video on, forgoing her hat for once so that Frodo might see her pointy elfin ears. At first glance, the person speaking in the feed looked like an ordinary Mud Man, but it was his words that gave him away. ]

So you're one of these 'hobbits' too, then?

[ Another race she'd never heard of before. They just seemed to be crawling out of the woodwork, here in the future. ]

[ Ah, uncertainty. Fear. Prestor is drawn to it like a moth to candleflame, a bit of darkness slipping past his smooth tone without him realizing it as he addresses the small, doe-eyed, helpless creature. ]

Hobbits? Surely you mean elves. Or goblins, perhaps?

No, I meant hobbits; they are not close to elves and certainly nothing at all like goblins.

Oh not at all, no hobbit would live under a bridge. They would find a nice, comfortable hole in the ground, or a good smial, if they can afford it.

I have found my gardener in the meantime, but I worry about Merry and Pippin.

How tall would you say a hobbit is? Cuz I've met some pretty short people before but they didn't have hair on their feet. ...I think.

Two to four feet. Although if they do not have any hair on their feet, they likely aren't a hobbit.

Perhaps not expecting someone, but keep an both eyes out on the chance they do arrive. Another hobbit arrived and he had no warning at all about the Dead that had taken to the streets.

No, hobbits cannot grow beard - nor do they grow as tall as a dwarf or nearly so stocky.
