Second Feather | Voice
[Rinoa's voice is quiet, even pensive as she starts to talk over the communicator. It's just talking this time too, which is a rage change because she's more of a video format type of girl. Only she's got a lot on her mind and she doesn't want to bother people, so voice only it is.]
I know new people seem to arrive here all the time, but... do people leave often?
[She continues to talk, but her voice is even softer now, her mind obviously on things aside from her broadcast.]
With everything that's happened, there's no way he's here. I would have heard from him by now if he was here, this just isn't like him.
[Then after a few moments of silence the transmission ends.]

[Also you'd best get used to funny sayings if you're gonna hang out with the sarge, cuz she's got a whole book of 'em. She nods firmly, though she knows Rinoa can't see it over the voice feed.] Well sure! Big part of my job back home is training rookies, after all--no sense letting myself get rusty, now is there?
[She appreciates your enthusiasm! Really, finding a purpose here has been a bit of a struggle for her. Even if this place is a warzone, without a front line to guard and an approaching threat to take down, she's found herself terribly... fidgety. Having a rookie to work with might help take the edge off, if nothing else. With the added benefit of knowing one less person is likely to be killed on sheer lack of experience, really it's a win/win sort of undertaking.]
What kind'a weapon'd they give you when you got here?
[voice]
I hadn't thought about it like that, you're right.
[She'll start taking notes for future use and reference, it could come in handy.]
Well if it'll help keep you prepared, how can I say no?
[A purpose is a great and powerful thing. Before she'd had the welfare of Timber to think about, now she has her own welfare and future to think about. It's a change, but a good one.]
I had my Blaster Edge with me when I got here. I'm not really sure how I'd describe it though, sorry.
[It's not even her chosen weapon, but it's easier than having a discussion about magic right now.]
[voice]
[And don't worry too much about that; she might not know jack about how to use magic, but it's not like she's unfamiliar with the concept. She actually secretly thinks it's pretty cool.]
[voice]
That's a really good idea. So I guess I'll meet you at the gym next time, then?
[It's just not something she typically advertises. Random exceptions for girls close to her age rambling about how magic is amazing aside.]
[voice]
Sounds like a plan. I expect you to show me your best work, cadet. [And no more moping; your friends wouldn't want you to mope, of that she's certain.]
[voice]
Yes ma'am! [She can't see it, but Rinoa is totally saluting right now. It's sloppy and nowhere near a professional salute, but it's the best she can manage right now.] I'll try not to disappoint you.
