Second Feather | Voice

[Rinoa's voice is quiet, even pensive as she starts to talk over the communicator. It's just talking this time too, which is a rage change because she's more of a video format type of girl. Only she's got a lot on her mind and she doesn't want to bother people, so voice only it is.]

I know new people seem to arrive here all the time, but... do people leave often?

[She continues to talk, but her voice is even softer now, her mind obviously on things aside from her broadcast.]

With everything that's happened, there's no way he's here. I would have heard from him by now if he was here, this just isn't like him.

[Then after a few moments of silence the transmission ends.]

[ Lucy's too, but certain types of magics are considered 'lost', like healing magics. Sadness! And at the revelation of Rinoa's last name, Lucy giggles. ]

Is it really? How cute~!

[ Yeah, dads suck :( Although Lucy kiiinda made amends with hers. Somewhat. Sorta. She was always closer to her mom. ]

How long have you been here, Rinoa?

[Healing magic they have in no small amount, just like pretty much every other sort of magic. They're pretty lucky that way.]

It really is. Talk about a crazy coincidence, huh?

[No amends have been made here, considering the last time she bumped into her dad he tried to look her in the house. Fun times, that. Though Rinoa was probably a mommy's girl before then, back when her mom was still alive.]

About a month now! [It took her a moment to figure this out.] Though sometimes it feels shorter or longer depending on what's happened.

[ Clearly Lucy will have to talk Rinoa's ear off about magic and their ~~daddy issues~~ worlds! ]

Yeah! [ And she pauses slightly at the latter comment, thoughtful. ]

I think I know what you mean. I've been here almost two months now, and it really feels like a lot longer. I've been trying to keep myself occupied though, taking on missions and - well I haven't really investigated the library properly yet, but I've been meaning to.

[She'll probably be slightly more talkative about magic now that no one else from her world is here, so this could certainly be a thing that happens.]

Sometimes it seems like time's funny here, but I think maybe it's just because sometimes there isn't much to do. [She smiles, brightening at the change in topic.] The library is amazing! I've already spent a bunch of time there.

[ Yay! ]

You're probably right. I've been spending most of my time trying to figure out my weapon, and how it changes. They gave you one too, right? Or ...well, they actually altered mine. [ Ponder ponder. ]

But I haven't done any reading or writing in weeks and it makes me long for it.

[ Hee. ]

Is it really? Ah, that's so exciting - maybe I'll see you there!

I haven't really thought about my weapon just yet. Zombie's aside it's just so peaceful here that it's easy to forget there's a war going on.

In weeks? Sounds like you need to get to the library right away!

[She nods enthusiastically at this idea.] Considering how often I'm there, I'm sure we'll run into each other eventually.

Yeah, you have a point. But that's a dangerous way of thinking, especially if the enemy tries a surprise attack. We'd be so used to the peace and quiet we'd be caught completely unawares.

[ And an enthusiastic laugh at that. ] Yeah, I was thinking just that myself. I think I'll go there soon. I'll be sure to say hello to you if I see you there!

But it sounds like we don't actually do any fighting in this time, they send us to other times and places to fight the bad guys. So it seems like the people who stay here in this time could probably go without ever really seeing any of the war.

I'll keep my eyes open then! Let's see who says hi first! [Because what else do they need but a silly, pointless competition?]

Hn... that's true... if what they say is fact, I mean, Most of the fighting DOES happen in the past, to change things. Although... I wonder if that's really possible.

I'm not sure of that, though. About a month ago or so, before I arrived here, the United Earth bombed this city, so we should still be careful.

[ Normally Lucy isn't nearly so competitive - but this was a harmless, silly competition. She giggles at the prospect, and offers Rinoa a thumbs up. ]

I'm not really sure, but I don't really understand most of this stuff honestly. It's all way too complicated.

I must have missed that. Seriously? I guess things are more serious here than I'd realized. That can't be good for the younger transfers, can it?

[Rinoa isn't normally either, but she's also prone to following flights of fancy as she deems fit.]
