[So... arriving here was a shock enough. Now... she's still struggling to absorb everything she's learned. It's so overwhelming, really. And Xion is not comfortable at all with just... putting her face and her voice and herself in general out there, but she has several questions and nobody she knows nearby to ask. So, text it is]

So we can't go home until we help the Initiate win this war? What if we've never fought in a war before? Why do they choose who they do?

I'm sorry if that's a lot of questions. I just don't understand what's going on. [Or why they picked her]

Is there any way of telling if there's anyone you know here?

[It seems like that's it, but at that moment, Xion slips in a puddle in the real world and nearly drops the tablet, fumbling with it and accidentally activating the video feed. It shows a small hooded girl, though her face is difficult to see. She seems to stare at a moment at the feed in surprise before she mutters "Sorry", and a hand clutching the bow she got when she arrived reaches up and clicks it off again]

From what they've said, if you believe it, they don't really choose people. People are brought at random.

[ A small blue-haired girl appears on the video feed. ] It's random selection. I've never fought in a war before either and yet, they still brought me here.

If there's anyone you know in this place, they should be able to see your message and respond.

[So it wasn't just her... Maybe it really was random. As for her friends...]

That's good. I hope they do soon.

the machine picks at random or something. i'm new here, but somebody who's been here longer said people sometimes get sent home for no reason too.

That really does sound random. So we don't know how long we'll be here at all do we?

I don't think there's a way of letting people know you're here if you're trying to contact someone from home.

And I dunno how this war works. It doesn't seem like everyone here knows how to fight, but there have to be other ways we could help out other than fighting!

I guess not. It sounds like I have to hope they see this, or that someone's seen them.

[She frowns at the tablet meanwhile, at the thought that there might be other ways to help. She hadn't thought about it like that]

I guess that's true. I don't know how else I might be able to help though.

I don't think the Initiative cares about our experience levels when it comes to violence or warfare
(which is stupid of them if you ask me)
so even if you can't fight
you're still stuck here.
Truthfully
I've been here for over a month and still don't really understand everything.

Other people are saying it's random who comes here. It seems like it.

[Given that, yeah they didn't seem to be picking people who were good for the job otherwise. Though to be fair, Xion can fight, she's just never been in a war before...]

Some people disappear, but that's not because they want to. Sounds like it's just random.

Even if we've never fought in a war before, we still have to fight. It's not as hard as you think--and there's a lot of people to back us up.

[Something about the face and the voice of this person makes Xion pause and stare. There's something... vaguely vaguely familiar but she has utterly no idea why. She's never seen this person before in her life, she was sure of it - unless it was maybe before she lost her memories?]

That's what everyone else is saying...

I can fight, but... is fighting in a war really different from fighting [there's a slight pause] normally?

[The text post doesn't really interest him; there's been a lot of new people showing up lately. When the video feed clatters into view, though, his attention is sufficiently grabbed. It's hard to tell for sure the stature of the figure, and their face is shrouded within the hood, but the voice is definitely female. And definitely not Larxene. So that leaves...]

[The moment she sees his face and hears his voice there's a surge of relief, and she immediately switches from text to video as well - if he was doing it then it was safe right?]

Axel? [Her voice is very hopeful] You're here too?

Not every member of an army is a warrior. There are also healers, and organizers, and planners, and those who carry things, and the cooks, and even the entertainers to lighten spirits.

Some of us also have trained others before, so if you would like that, I'm sure whatever skill you need would have someone here to train. And if you do not know what skill you need, I'm sure you can find someone to help you work that out, as well.

You may not be a warrior; you may be a tactician, or a strategist, or a cook, or a healer. All of these skills are useful, and anyone who claims that a war only requires warriors is... well, in my opinion, wrong.

You may have a weapon, but that does not mean you must be a warrior. It may have abilities that aren't obvious at first.

I do not completely understand their motives, their processes or even their organization, so I do not know how much more help I can give.

[That was a lot of text at once, compared to the other replies that Xion had been getting. Not that it was bad - it just took her a little longer to work through.]

It's not that I can't fight. [Quite the opposite - she'd spent most of her life thus far fighting tiny Eldritch abominations] I'm just not sure I'll be good at fighting in a war.

But... I could maybe do any of those other things too, if I wanted?

Even if you have never fought in a war, there are those of us who would be willing to teach you. Rest assured that you will have to not fight until you wish to do so.

[She frowns a little in thought. More than anything she doesn't want to be useless or a burden. Especially if it means finishing this war and going home faster.]

Is there some way we'll know if we're ready?

It's kind of funny how they say that, especially when there's people who don't exactly have a 'home' to go back to.

But I'm sure there's plenty of people here who can help regarding the war.

It sure seems like it. There's so many people here.

[She's lived with mostly the same seven people her whole life so most gatherings of people are "a lot" though]

[The voice belongs to someone who looks roughly around the same age as Xion. He has black hair in a horrible mess and incredibly long ears, and he seems more interested in the book he's reading than whatever she's going through. His eyes glow green, though. Like a Heartless, but... green. Tha fuq.]

As for the rest: the Initiative has no idea of what they are doing, or how to work their inferior machine.

Yeah, I found someone.

[Xion peers with slight interest at the person on the feed. The ears were different from most of the ones she'd seen... People from different worlds looked different, sure, but Xion hasn't been around quite long enough to have achieved the same level of nonchalance when meeting more strange-looking people some of the others from her universe have]

That makes sense, if the machine takes people randomly... but why do you think they don't know how to do other things too?

[Aladdin is still trying to get used to technology in general, so he'll stick to a video feed. It's the fastest and easiest method!

Meanwhile, regardless of just a text message (and a brief glance of the girl's limited appearance), it's not too difficult to pinpoint that she's uneasy. Due to that, he tries to be as soothing as possible, hoping the appearance of one around her age calms her:]

I'm not sure of what's entirely going on myself... Though, I can reassuringly tell you that we aren't alone. I recently arrived, so I'm still trying to piece everything out as well.

I've looked for my friends, but I've learned that you can easily view their names using this device.
