I find it difficult to believe that I'm the only one who has chosen to remain behind on the night of the party. I've spent the better part of a month on the streets of our illustrious host city. [Bone dry.]
I'm finding myself in the mood for some company. I don't suppose anyone here knows Wicked Grace or Diamondback?
If not, I'll settle for a decent drink. I'll even buy the first round.

[And can you guess from his tone, he instantly disapproves of the thing? A party when the people here are kidnapped and forced to fight for a cause which is not their own and having their own value system and world turned upside down?]
But I would appreciate knowing where to get a drink as well.

[After all, he stayed behind.]
I know of a couple of places. What's your preference? Relatively clean, or relatively out of the way? I have yet to find one that offers both.

[He can ignore the noise. Then again, if so many people left for this party, there probably won't eb that many around except some natives, and Byakuya's aura is intimidating enough that most humans wouldn't bother him anyway.]

So as sick as he is of the netbook pinging messages at him, he's bored enough to check this one. Bored enough to shoot back a quick reply.]
I could go for a drink. Don't know the game, but I've been told I'm a quick study.
Re: video
[He's keeping his own preference close to the vest. It's more instructive to hear what others request.]
Re: video
Whichever's closest? Honestly both suit me just fine.
Re: video
[There's no rush, so he's more than happy to kill a little time. It's a quiet night.]
I'm Duncan. I'm fairly certain I haven't seen you before. New arrival?
Re: video
[The line of questioning earns an easy shrug. Habitually downplaying his own inexperience in certain situations? Yeah, that seems about right. Not like this is the first battlefield he's stepped into on accident. That's pretty par for the course actually.]
The name's O'Connell. Rick.
Re: video
[Something he learned very early here is that many naming conventions are different than from his world.]
I'd say welcome to the island, except it's not a situation precisely given to such conventions of politeness.

I won't say I do, but if they're card games, I should be able to figure them out.
perma vid for Duncan
[Also luckily for everyone involved, he's not the rogue he used to be. No card sharking.]
It's looking like we might have a good sized little group. Wicked Grace is as good one on one as with several. Diamondback is best with at least four.

I'm Duncan, by the way.

No preference, one way or another. I'm too new to have one for this place, and where-ever it is will have enough light to read cards, so it can't
no subject
[He blinks at the cut off sentence and quirks a smile.]
That happens to me every time I try to use the tiny letters on these devices. Yes, there will be enough light.
((OOC: Or if you'd prefer, I can delete this and give you the chance to have her end the sentence. Just figured I'd run with it!))

So what did you find while you were walking around for so long?
Re: [Video]
I should have known. Leave it to those of us raised around such things not to want anything to do with them.
I found lots of dirty streets, ruined buildings, tunnel entrances, and odds and ends. If I ever wind up getting chased by a mob, I feel much more confident in my odds of escaping now.

[That's not exactly funny to joke about since mob chasings have happened around here, ser. So just have a anti-nonsense glare. She'll soften her voice a bit when she speaks at the least.] A relief you found the time to come to the meeting then.
no subject
[He gives her his typical untroubled look in return. He wasn't entirely joking, after all.]
As I said. I have your back. I'd need a better excuse than I decided to go exploring to miss it.
no subject
[A nod.]
Then, again, I appreciate it.
